Update
Good morning Tumblr friends. Thank you all for the well wishes and continued prayers for my healing, they mean the world to me. I still have a long way to go with this battle as it was stage 4 before it was caught, but the tumors are shrinking and responding to treatment. I’ve had a few setbacks but I’m looking straight ahead and not behind. I miss you all very much and rely on your continued support. Always Lzlabs Lauren

Good morning Tumblr friends, This isn’t an easy post for me to write so I’ll just get to it. Fighting pneumonia off and on for the past few months led to tests and eventually, lung cancer was diagnosed. I start the big fight with aggressive treatment in about a week. Yes, I’m an ex-smoker, but this happens to those who have never smoked. I will not be posting here again unless it’s with the good news that I kicked its ass. A Nursery of Stars
Encased in a globe of luminescent fog, angels breath against a frosted sky little stars of wonder with tiny twinkles that spark the night from a nursery of stars born blooming clusters more than interstellar gas and dust speck and dot they crown the darkness in a moonless sky
I can’t say I am a stranger
walking the streets of
lit up houses with
life hung on walls
holding the distance
of many years.

Youthful clouds of memory
Reminding me that I have yet
To become my true self.
Dreams placed
On a shelf for tomorrow
Never realized their true potential.

Locked away choices
taste of bad wine and
cigarettes.
They poke yesteryears arm
to face the clouds
and you.

Storms of seasons past
Like a disaster
what’s left after
I’ve never recovered from.

True beauty has been indistinguishable
from fear
Still it’s clear. Time passes
far more quickly
than I remembered.

And remembering, just blurs
