Dots floating in the dark across my vision –

I used to press my palms into my eyes as a kid. Lying in my bed, I’d push, and push until patterns and colors become these galaxies dancing across my mind. I just can’t quite catch them. Can’t memorize them. I see the curves and the shadows of them. When I open my eyes I think, this is what it’s like to be blind. Always chasing shapes and shades in the dark void.
