GeneCo brand top surgery where if you don’t pay on time a Repo Man comes to sew your tits back on
Someone in Glasgow please go see this for me pls. I will be there in spirit 🙏
Brief report from the flute accompaniment:
It went well! At least 100 people attended, families dogs a solid portion of Glasgow's trans community. There was a really lovely atmosphere, nice weather and a very cheerful celebratory vibe.
After short speeches from the ballhaver and the large dyke (my wife), the ballhaver was given a chupa chup and blindfolded (execution style). The balls were then duly kicked; it made a surprisingly loud dull thumping sound. She fell to the ground to loud cheers and there was a moment of silence while Taps played on the flute. The large dyke wore solovair urban hikers.
Account from the Large Dyke.
Arrived early to find the crowd already gathering, so the kick got off to a prompt start. Following some introductions from everybody and some cheery folk music from our flautist (my wife!) we got on with the kick.
I think we got good contact, the top of my boot making a good solid noise on impact. Very good atmosphere all round, people stayed to chat for a while. Were it not January it would have been an excellent opportunity for a picnic.
10/10 queer event, would happily kick anybody in the balls in the name of community.
I want to free thyself from perdition,
Tradition and expectations of religion aside.
I grasp onto the knowledge that arrythmically my thoughts
circle back to thy place of worship
and thy most holy and dangerously inept ideals of the world
falsely spared from ravages merely by
identifying of that which is nought.
I wish to take thy hand and pull thyself away from
this ruinous and fatal place of worship,
for our purpose can never and will never rest upon
the almighty strength of thy God.
Instead I wish for purpose among
the divinations of which we have not yet discovered,
to become one with the sacred beings we do not yet know.
This is the true purpose of the son, the spirit, the holy ghost.
We are merely vessels of a higher nature,
toiling and tinkering away on
an earth that is not quite aware of
how little the faith can achieve,
to how little we all will soon care.
I cannot be held back by the justifications of your God to make right a world which will always--in my bleeding eyes--be destroyed by the faith, saved by the faith, and become no better than the holy writings.
We are created to teach each new generation of
the amalgamations of the unholy and the just, for,
as we have been warned time and time again,
thy God will strike us down and begin anew.
I cannot, in the teachings of my heart and
the experiences outside of the church,
begin to state how little I believe in the Lord.
A false prophet created for false profit amongst
the corrupt people of this life will never
be given status in my soul. I must believe.
Amen.
Just recently started watching Game Changer and this has to me one of my favorite TV show moments ever
he's free now
It isn't often that House feels any sort of affection. It takes a lot to get him to want another person's presence, but when they earn it, it's well worth the insufferable hours spent. Take Chase, for example. House never truly warmed up to Chase until recently, the wombat somehow slipping into his daily thoughts more and more as the years (and diagnosticians) changed. Despite this, he didn't often think about Chase's work outside of their cases. It was when Chase returned from playing surgeon that he really began to notice.
He sees Chase working longer and longer hours, watching him stumble out of the hospital when House arrives in the mornings or shrugging off his coat as a makeshift pillow to sleep on during his shift changes. He doesn't comment on it. Not yet. He doesn't want to spook the man. (He doesn't want to show he cares.)
He lasts about two more days before he's over with this arrangement, and unfortunately not by choice. Chase walks in, shivering lightly and yawning every couple of minutes. He's completely out of it, his eyes glassy as they lazily roam the room, never landing on a single thing. House can clearly tell that Chase isn't listening to a word he says, his attention somehow captured by everything and nothing at the same time. It takes three tries to get his attention until House has had it. "Chase!"
He snaps, and Chase jolts up in his seat, his eyes widening as they finally focus, if only for a moment. "...Hm? What?" His voice is slurring, and the three of them now display various levels of concern. Cameron stands slowly, her brows furrowed as if she'll scare him by moving too fast. House is openly frowning now, limping forward slightly. And Foreman finally speaks up, his face impassive but his voice tinged with worry. "Chase, are you alright?" Chase promptly responds with a light, dreamy "'m fine.." before his eyes flutter and his head smacks into the table, hard. The three of them move over to him fully now, House giving Cameron and Foreman a look as if to say 'you couldn't have stopped him?'
Foreman just lifts his head and moves to check his pulse with his wrist as Cameron palpates his collarbone. "Come on, Chase... wake up." Chase slowly responds with a low groan, his face scrunching up. Cameron rubs his shoulder in reassurance, Foreman stepping back to give him space. House peers down, giving him a sharp glare. "Wh's... I passed out..?" Chase looks up sluggishly- too sluggishly- and House's frown deepens. "You're not doing this. Not today. Get in my office as soon as you can stand without falling." He pretends to ignore Cameron's shock and Foreman's raised brow as he turns around and holds the door open for the man who, by all accounts, should not be standing up.
Chase just waves vaguely in their direction as he stumbles the few feet and leans heavily on the door handle for a long moment, long enough for House to believe he'd fallen asleep standing, but dutifully falls into a chair in front of House's desk. Gregory House may be a man of great pride, but he suddenly feels like he needs to give Chase a hug and a cookie as he sits down in his worn-down office chair. He dismisses the idea even as a muted sense of dread pools in his gut. "You've not been sleeping." Chase has the audacity to look sheepish a good moment later, after he's finally processed the statement. "..No time." House bristles at that, his eye twiching in annoyance. "You're kidding."
Amother long moment of silence falls over them. House counts to ten, his vision darkening in both frustration and painful concern as Chase tips forward again. He picks up his favorite red ball and lightly throws it at the man, a twitch of a smirk on his face as Chase immediately jolts up again. His brow furrows as his lips purse, clearly itching to retort with an insult or perhaps even bend down and throw the ball back. He does neither. Instead, Chase spouts honest-to-god the most ridiculous rant ever said by a doctor. Ever. Did he mention ever? "...I've been busy. A couple of surgeons needed someone to take their shifts, and head of surgery doesn't even really get that I'm not his subordinate anymore. Cuddy's been swamped, I haven't been able to tell her about fixing it. And of course, I gotta show up here. And do clinic hours. And do *your* clinic hours."
House just blinks. He processes. He blinks again, this time more in surprise than irritation. "I'm going to chalk up your frankly frightening honesty to sleep deprivation- Hey. Oh, come on." He nudges Chase's foot when his long blink is longer than it should be, and Chase once again snaps to attention. "Jesus, I knew you've been working a lot, but this is... how long have you been up? No, scratch that. How long have you been *here*?" Chase's already pale face turns yet another shade of 'I'm too tired for this shit' grey, and House nearly rolls his eyes. "Um. What... what day is it?" He really does roll his eyes. He's sure Chase doesn't notice anyway, his attemtion clearly on actually looking at House and not through him. "It's Tuesday. Here's what we're gonna do: you're either getting on that recliner right the hell now, or I'm going to admit you so you can really get your brain scrambled for the remainder of the week. Vicodin, for starters. I'll slip it in when you're not paying attention."
Chase just gives him a look that could've been a glare if it isn't for how lost his whole expression is. "Don't give me that. You haven't earned it, and I dare say you won't earn it for a while. This is beyond ridiculous. You need to stop being a goddamn pushover before you keel in the middle of work. Again. It's a good thing you weren't with the patient, or I would've had to tell his parents, 'Oh hey, your kid died 'cause my coworker is an idiot and maybe sorta fell asleep before we could give him life-saving treatment. Sorry!'"
Each word is punctuated by exasperated hand gestures. He blames the dumbass wombat in front of him for all the emotion he's had to show already today. Too much emotion for him to deal with without a coffee in his hand and the knowledge that he's made someone miserable. He directs his glare to the door, Cameron's face dissapearing back behind the glass. He can almost hear Foreman's pacing as he switches between going over the case and asking Cameron for the play-by-play. God, these people. House just doesn't know how they've managed to weasel into his cold, dead heart and give him *more* grey hairs. Of course they have. Jackasses. He turns back just as Chase lets out a soft snore, his chin pressed into his chest. House just groans. "I can't leave you alone for one second, I swear."
very abrupt ending, I know. it's a WIP for now, idk how I feel about it yet. comments def appreciated ! I'm trying some new stuff out and I really hope its at least pretty engaging if nothing else. context for seasons and other canon things is non specific because honestly I don't really care and I'm not sure I wanna do the research just to never finish the damn thing. I just figured, what the hell. I'll post it on here and see what happens. Thanks again ! Oh, and please don't copy or post on other sites, I don't own this show, yadda yadda. All the things.
we used to have normalized whump. remember what they took from you....
back in the day you could write about the most sickeningly vile atrocious war crimes happening to your blorbo and everyone was like. kyaaaaaaaa >w<. they just got it. they understood
What the fuck is whump
Don't worry about it kitten
psych fans will pull up with the most obscure, one frame ass reference and say "that's my favorite characterization i love that they did that!" i love you. you make my enjoyment of the show that much better. and i was already invested as hell so. thank you psych fans.
Still thinking about that one tiktok where that lady was like "trans women have to put on tons and tons of makeup everyday to be seen even a little bit as a woman and trans men just put on their "Going out flannel"
as if there isn't "masculinizing makeup" tutorials and trans men beefing up their facial hair rogaine and or makeup, and packers, and STPs and binders, and makeup for covering your scars, and and and it's like please speak trans men and stop making shit up oh my god. trans men/mascs put in so much work.
Honestly what frustrates me the most about this conversation is that "trans women are expected to wear makeup" is an observation that has a lot of potential for a really interesting conversation about trans experiences as they intersect with patriarchal gender roles, especially before, during, and "after" transition. But people are so focused on "proving" that trans women get all the bad parts of patriarchy & trans men get all the benefits that we're stuck with this stupid attack/defend dynamic instead.
Trans women have unique experiences with patriarchy! There's a super interesting conversation to be had about how they might be expected to wear makeup even moreso than cis women are, and what that reveals about how patriarchy defines and values desirable physical appearances!
But instead of talking about that, we have to hear asinine takes that invariably boil down to "every bad thing trans women experience, we can safely assume trans men experience the positive inverse of"- which is both an extremely weird logical fallacy that holds literally no basis in reality, and completely distracts from any useful analysis of the problem in the first place.
This is "men don't have to dress up, but women do" 2014 hot take pop feminism with a vaguely trans coat of paint. Great observation queen, now what? Is your argument that men should also have to dress up and wear makeup, or that nobody should be valued based on their appearance? Is it that both binary genders should come with rigid expectations of conformity in dress and presentation, or are we perhaps ready to talk about the deeper problems inherent to a system of oppression built on gender conformity and a strict gender binary?
By making every single issue about imagining how much easier trans men must have it, they're not only erasing trans men's voices and experiences from the conservation- they're also detracting from any useful conversation we could be having about trans women's experiences, too.
I literally cannot express this better than they did, but man will I try. Do cis people just genuinely not realize how absolutely fucking horrible it is to be trans of ALL variations in this society? We, as in both transfems and transmascs, have issues with not only how we percieve ourselves, but how other percieve us. This is a daily, constant reminder that we are not the people we desperately want to be. It's not even in a "Oh, I want to be a guy/girl with only anatomically guy/girl parts!" No.
A lot of trans individuals don't experience as extreme of dysphoria. And that's valid. That's okay. But for the people that do, it's extremely frustrating to hear that just because we have to pass in a different way than just applying makeup, we somehow don't have it just as bad as the people that do. That because we can put on a binder we don't have issuee with our bodies or body types. That we don't have to walk or talk or dress masculine to pass.
It's just as much of a struggle, and by allowing the transfem community as a whole to see that and blindly believe whatever cis people say about us causes a gap in out own comminty. It causes unneccesary pain and arguments and "Well, I have it worse!" instead of "I don't have the same problems, but I can understand the feelings that you're going through and hopefully we can get through this together."
By separating us, you're just doing the exact same thing that every single person in a minority experiences, which is attempting to spread false information in order to not only separate us from the cis community, but place ourselves into rigid, set categories that the trans community was literally made to discredit. We are living examples of not trying to fit into gender conformity. So by creating accusations of "one has more problems than the other", we're just creating more problems for ourselves. Let's actually do the research for a minute here and actually look into the trans experience instead of creating this caricature of whatever you want it to be. Because cis people, newsflash, we're suffering through a lot of shit by just being ourselves, you think we're going to miraculously start listening to this blindly now? You think we're just going to sit by and listen to you rant about how all trans people should do this and this and this because "oh I have a trans friend who..." or "I think girls should be this and guys should be that..."
WE ARE HUMAN BEINGS. WE ARE CAPABLE OF MAKING OUR OWN DECISIONS ABOUT HOW WE FEEL ABOUT OUR LIVES AND OUR BODIES. I'm so tired of listening to the same thing over and over about how we should fit into these molds of femininity and masculinity because it's more palatable for cis people. My whole existance should not be trying to make myself easier to digest for other people. Quit attempting to dumb us down and make our entire lives about pleasing you because it's not funny and it's not cute.
And the longer we hold onto these inane "unspoken rules" about who should be what because of anything that is out of their control (i.e. BEING TRANS), the longer you'll realize that even cis women and cis men don't consistently follow this and that it's specifically made so that you don't have to worry about accepting people for who they are. Just let us exist. Please. I'm tired of asking nicely.
Sorry idk why it’s cropped like that ummm flash warning
This is the coolest thing I've seen all day what ???? 🤯 reblogging bc I CANNOT lose this oml
An informational comic I drew last year for my Comics 2 class, reposting it to my new account (had to jump ship from the old one unfortunately) with some minor grammar changes and learned my lesson in adding watermarks! Happy early pride :)
♦ for ricky please? :)
So I'm not sure whether to do hobbies OR quirks, or hobbies AND quirks, but I'm a Ricky Potts connoisseur so I'll give you some of both!!
Quirks: Definitely a rambler. Even when he doesn't speak he rambles in sign language and with his AAC. It's always assumed because he doesn't talk vocally he has nothing to say but anyone who actually takes the time to listen will tell you he literally never shuts up lol. Total chatterbox. Breaks into Star Trek and Star Wars lore. When he was a kid he liked to meow and even when his voice stopped working he kept it up for a while using his non vocal communication methods. Even at 17 years old sometimes he finds himself fingerspelling the word to himself and it makes him smile cause he thinks of his multiple multiple cats :)
As for hobbies, I can't help but picture him post-Cyclone where everyone lived learning lots of instruments so that he's not just bored out of his mind during choir. He plays guitar and piano and yes. . . Squeezekeys!!! He also works on his fictional universe and writes and draws comic books detailing it. He loves video/computer games. Also collects action figures. He would also start fostering cats, he's an exceptional kitty caregiver!
Out of curiosity, do ppl have comfort movies? NOT tv shows, movies! I have a few and watching them always makes me feel happy and calm
yes; specify what movie in the tags!
no; tell me your favorite movie anyway in the tags!
don't have one/results
i'm just curious bc i'm watching How to Train Your Dragon and i always forget how happy and calm it makes me feel. i mean, i did name my cat after Toothless the dragon. but i also love Lion King, that's my Disney comfort movie. and my Ghibli comfort movie is Spirited Away. watching any of these when i'm in a foul mood or my anxiety is high always helps 🥰 but i watch them just for fun too, not only when i'm in a mood. what about you?
you know now knowing that as kids shawn played bassoon and gus played clarinet it’s truly criminal there was never an episode involving a local symphony orchestra. like, one of the principal musicians dies—call it the principal flutist—and foul play is suspected, so shawn convinces the chief to let them go undercover. gus is still using his old clarinet, but henry got rid of shawn’s bassoon like ten years ago so shawn makes the department rent him a really nice one. lassiter’s huge qualm this episode is that he thinks shawn and gus are making a mockery of the beauty that is classical music. shawn actually feels very strongly about the case because one of the pieces they’re performing has a majestic bassoon solo that he was supposed to play in the eighth grade until he got stiffed for first chair. gus and jules are the only ones being normal.
lassie and jules end up arresting the second chair flute player because it seems like a jealousy case, but shawn isn’t convinced. he goes down the rabbit hole and uncovers this crazy romance subplot about how the principal bassoonist and the principal flutist were sleeping together, but then the flutist slept with someone else in the orchestra—call it a percussionist (they’re always doing that)—and so he killed her. shawn claims he learned this through the instruments speaking to him. the high stakes moment of the episode is when the bassoonist tries to kill the percussionist, but our fave crew end up saving the day.
the episode ends with shawn and gus playing in the concert and shawn doing the bassoon solo since the principal was arrested for murder. biggest plot twist of all is that he actually sounds pretty good.
another random note is that lassie has it out for the second chair flute because he used to play oboe when he was younger and got relentlessly bullied by the flutes. shawn finds this out and forces bonding between the two of them by sharing his bassoon trauma. lassie does not seem to care. because the percussionist gets injured in the scuffle near the end of the episode, shawn convinces the orchestra director to let lassie play the triangle in the concert. later on in the series, there’s a throwaway line about how shawn can’t get ice cream with gus after a case because he’s busy. there’s a honk outside the psych office and shawn jogs out, gets in lassie’s car, and they go to community orchestra together.
oh also the henry subplot of the episode is that he and the director of the orchestra go way back for some reason and that’s the only reason that shawn and gus are allowed to go undercover. shawn is pissed at henry for getting rid of his bassoon and henry tries to turn it into a lesson about responsibility that is immediately undermined by the department renting one for him.
do you see my vision
I know psych is dead and buried, but goddamn it the cast should come back JUST to make this. I would be SQUEALING. The clarinetist in me would explode.
Unpopular opinion: scenecore is super valid n a great way 2 introduce kids into the scene community. It's honestly pretty similar 2 the actual style anyway, with the major themes of edits of characters or wallpapers (most of the scenecore aesthetic) using or having in them some major characters that are usually seen as scene (gir, hello kitty, domo, skelanimals, I'd even say a little bit of miku). That being said, it is helpful to note the differences, but at the end of the day if a scenecore kid wants 2 b a scene kid™ it's uncool n downright poser-ish of other scene kids 2 blatantly ignore or put them down. Plus, the style is all about being nostalgic and yearning 4 a different time when it comes 2 fashion, music, entertainment, etc. which isn't 2 far off from scene itself. In conclusion, quit hating on scenecore so much !!! Thnx bai 🥱💚
