dalliance [closed;houtarou]
She’s certainly friendly..
Houtarou couldn’t help but to think that it was certainly not unpleasant having someone like this as his apparent spouse, if he really was fated to be with her forever. She didn’t feel the need to talk much, so of course he didn’t need to have to use a lot of energy replying.
Every once in awhile as they were walking, he felt what seemed to be a stare from his companion directed towards him.Why do these eyes feel so familiar? However, Houtarou would just ignore it and keep looking straight ahead.
“I see! Well, it won’t be much longer until we reach our destination. Do you have a preference for confectionery? It’s just…I can order if you want to find a seat and settle in!”
“It’s fine.”
Houtarou replied briefly, but certainly not coldly. He didn’t really mind sweets, but there was of course no preference either. He wasn’t picky with what he ate, that’d be a waste of energy.
As they kept walking, the two remained quiet, with neither of them saying anything. Houtarou, of course, wasn’t the type to initiate a conversation, especially without reason, and of course as the girl he was walking with didn’t seem to be bothered by the silence, nor was she trying to make conversation on her end, he didn’t feel the need to say anything.
He glanced at her, and noticed that she was skipping along happily, humming an unidentifiable tune, her unusual, rose-coloured hair bouncing along with her step. Am I really going to… procreate with this girl? Houtarou quickly realized what was on his mind and looked away, clearing his mind of indecent thoughts.
..
“Erm, well here we are! I hope you’ll enjoy it”
Looking ahead, Houtarou saw their destination. It was a nice-looking, uncrowded cafe with a pleasant feeling coming from it. He took the lead and held the door open for her without a word before walking in, himself.
A slight blush dusted her cheeks at the gentlemanly gesture that Houtarou had shown her, causing her to utter an incredibly flustered thank you in return before shuffling herself in. Mizuki found herself becoming self-aware as she walked into the establishment, and peered at the fellow patrons. Not only was she here with someone else, which is rather unusual in itself, but she was here with a male. The last date she had was with the object of her affections and her best friend - who was also aiming for him.
Slapping her cheeks slightly to pull her out of the intrusive thoughts, so offered the teenager a friendly smile before gesturing to the seating arrangements, "Houtarou..." she hesitated slightly at the familiar language she accidentally used before continuing on regardless of what he thought, "perhaps we should sit down so you could look at the menu to decide what you'll like?" The pinkette was sincerely hoping that the informal way she addressed her companion didn't offend him and make him want to walk out and leave her. Even the mere image of it happening in her mind made the girl slam her blue eyes shut to brace herself for any shouting that may happen.
However, to her surprise, nothing came. He was a quiet person after all. She pointed slightly to a clear table by the window and once again, tugged at his arm for him to follow. Blood began its ascent to her face upon doing this for yet another time, but this way, she didn't have to face him since he was behind her. "He probably thinks I'm really strange! But I can't do anything about it now. Why do I have to be so weird?" She mused to herself as she made her way to their destination.
Mizuki paused before she silently scurried away to collect cutlery, sugar and cream to accompany their meal. Anything to get away from the other for a small period of time to calm down. What was it about this boy that made her so flustered? His stoic personality was far from Akihisa's usually bright and caring personality, but it wasn't unpleasant, far from it in fact. As she began walking back to her acquaintance, the girl began growing in confidence again. He was only human after all, and didn't seem like the type to tease. However, this confidence was washed away by stagnant water that was on the ground, which of course, caught her in its evil trap.
Covered in the cream that had collided with her during her fall to the ground, all she could do was tearfully look at her clothes and at Houtarou that was in front of her.
