Dick riding IS NOT a form of transportation!!!!!!!!
not with that attitude
as we can see here dick riding has been used as a form of transport since at least the central middle ages
The masculine urge to homoerotially slip your rondel dagger through a gap in their plate harness right into their brachial artery.
Hail fellow well met 👋 you seem like a buckaroo that knows a bit about gamboised cuisses
I’m planning on making some and my reference I’m working off of has them tied into a sort of belt/garter thing (I’m using Period Patterns 101 which has some flaws 🤷🏻♀️ seems decent for my uses- but they have you fold the tops over and suspend them from a waistband)…. The Medieval Tailor’s Assistant recommends a breech-girdle (and garters) for separate hose- I know they’re different but I’ve seen the breech-girdle style for gamboised cuisses as well. Köhler’s “A History Of Costume” makes reference to hose being attached to a belt.
My big question is what’s more comfortable? Honestly, even though it’s not a perfect match for my reference, I’m leaning a bit towards a more breech-girdle style because I’m concerned about a belt digging into my waist over the day but maybe I’m over thinking it?
Thank you for your time and any guidance you’d like to share ❤️
TBH I've used the The Medieval Tailor’s Assistant quite a bit and it has yet to lead me astray.
I haven't tested this theory, but I do think a breech-girdle would be more comfortable.
The gamboised cuisses are probably a bit to early (in time period) to suspend from a doublet, but that would be a third option (although it does make using the washroom more annoying).
