But while we're on the topic, it's so interesting to me how many C*nucks fans (outside of Tumblr) say how H*ghes isn't even a good defenseman (he's not, and I will D I E on that hill). Because those motherfuckers used to show up anytime media outlets so much as called Cale Makar a good defenseman, much less the best defenseman in the league (he is).

So many of these fans have argued for YEARS that because H*ghes is good at scoring goals (he really is. I'm not denying that! He's a good hockey player. He's just not a good defenseman!) that he should win that Norris trophy. But now that he isn't on their Special Chosen Team, they're singing a different tune. I feel like I've been fucking gaslit!

If, hockey gods FORBID, Cale didn't stay in Colorado, I would STILL say he's the best defenseman in the league. Because he is.
