The more you try to force your plan on the race, the harder the race will fight back with a plan of its own. So embrace the shit show.

Thoughts on Passion
Maybe I am not a passionate person because it doesn't make me more sensitive. Compare the mind to a lake... When the mind is full of passion you'll experience beautiful waves in choppy waters. If a small stone falls in the water, you probably won't even notice. Less passion gives peace and makes you more sensitive to what is going on.
There is a fine line between passion and fanaticism. Passion is a wonderful thing, but without reason it can lead to fanaticism.

How our brain networks: Research reveals white matter “scaffold” of human brain For the first time, neuroscientists have identified the white matter framework of the human brain offering a “landmark first map” of core white matter pathways and revealing which connections may be most vulnerable to damage. “We coined the term white matter ‘scaffold’ because this network defines the information architecture which supports brain function. While all connections in the brain have their importance, there are particular links which are the major players.” Read More: http://ow.ly/tAHij Full Paper: http://ow.ly/tBfaD (open access)

Something that endurance athletes should know and integrate to stay healthy. Runners live longer, when they run at comfortable pace, not too far and not 7 days a week...

Extreme Workouts: When Exercise Does More Harm than Good
"Telomere length is preserved with age in endurance exercise-trained humans and is related to maximal aerobic exercise capacity among healthy older adults. This may represent a novel molecular mechanism linking vigorous habitual exercise/aerobic fitness to reduced cellular senescence and preserved physiological function with aging."
