Where to begin? For starters, I am 27 years old and I have earned a Bachelors of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas at El Paso, more commonly known as UTEP. I was involved in the University's music programs where I participated in various ensembles such as the Marching Band (Drum Major/Horn), Basketball Pep Band (Horn/Student Director), and Symphonic Band (Horn), and a member of ΦΜΑ Sinfonia, the National Fraternal Society of Music. I attend St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and I am involved in music ministry, youth ministry, I am also a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, and a member of the A.C.T.S. community. I am a DJ, dancer, and dance instructor, for the local tropical music scene in El Paso. I specialize in Salsa, Mambo, Bachata, Cha Cha, Merengue, Reggaeton, and to a lesser extent other genres including Cumbia, House, and Hip-Hop. Need to know anything more? Just ask...

I can’t quite put into words the magnitude of what today’s events that occurred in Paris means for our universal church. The cathedral was not just an architectural wonder, but also a place of worship, and a home to priceless works of art and relics. As I reflect on this now, I can’t help but ponder the words of @bishopbarron who would argue that the beauty of the cathedral, as with the beauty of many other forms of art in our church, can be a powerful evangelical tool, and it can grab us in such a way where words can sometimes fail to communicate. As was the case with Cardinal Jean-Marie Lustiger who converted from Judaism, and Paul Claudel who wandered into the cathedral during evening vespers, stared at the north Rose Window, and experienced a conversion from non-belief.
