Hello Sarah!
I just saw a clip of YK and FJ ladies singing Kalafina's Alleluia. I couldn't find any post about it on your blog. Have you watched it? Where can I watch the full version? And what are your thoughts? Thank you!
Ughhhhh...I know you probably don't have any bad intentions but people really need to stop asking me about this sort of stuff. Since yesterday, I have received a bunch of questions/messages about that performance and I can already tell you now that I am definitely not gonna be replying to all of them. Your message was by far the nicest one so I am picking it to say my piece and be done with the matter once and for all.
For reference, anon is talking about an upcoming appearance of YK and FJ on NHK's program "tiny desk concerts JAPAN". The half-hour concert will include a performance of Kalafina's "Alleluia", some clips have been floating around on Twitter where we hear tiny glimpses of all the songs. And no, there's no full version yet but I am sure it will pop up everywhere once the show has aired so don't worry about that.
As for me personally, of course I have seen all the news posts, clips and fan reactions on Twitter. I check Twitter for updates several times a day and I follow a bunch of people in the fandom, my entire feed is full of Kalafina and YK stuff so there's really no way something like this happens without me seeing at least 30 tweets about it.
The thing is though that I don't see any reason for me to interact with this sort of content or to post about it on my blog here. Yes, they are singing a Kalafina song but Kalafina is not involved in the performance in any way shape or form so I have little to no interest in this. I've never made it a secret that I don't particularly care for the other vocalists so I have literally no horse in this race. And don't even try to misconstrue my indifference for something it is not. I fully respect Yuki Kajiura's right to cover her own music and it would never cross my mind to fault her for wanting to perform all these amazing songs. She can do whatever she wants. However, I will admit that her particular song choices in most recent times keep rubbing me the wrong way. I feel like it only further divides fans but hey, maybe that's the whole point...
I'll leave it at that since I usually try my best to stick to the saying "If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all"...

besides my future father in law, i became a godmother today with my fiancé for our niece!!! glory to God!!!! alleluia!!! i find it interesting how joy and sorrow can both be extremely present at the same time. the human experience is so complex
I was in bondage to sin, and though I tried to free myself, I knew I was not able to. Therefore God Himself, taking the nature of a simple baby, lowered Himself so greatly to the point of being a slave as well, to free me and the entire world of the chains of sin and death. He freed us by having His flesh teared open, His whole self exposed, His blood gushing out to give us new life. And on this night, He tells us, after dying the death to end all deaths, that life truly will always win.
