Hello my old Knitting tumblr blog thing that I abandoned for um years.Â
My first machine knit cardigan. Ribbing and edges done by hand. Yarn is knit picks City Tweed DK. I designed the cardigan for myself using maths and stuff. Also tumblr hates me because this is taking forever to type. So I probably had more to say but I can’t.
Celebrate with my free knitting pattern!
LOVE
Haven’t updated in a while - but still knitting
My mother dictated every step of this hat - the type of brim she wanted, the amount of slouch, the top of the hat being flat. But it was worth it to make something she wanted.Â
Knittaz be like…
I love it every time this show mentions knitting.
Seeing the light towards the end of part 3 of this project and the end of this color. Happiness is also finding the stitch count is perfect (327)

That border tho . . . breathe deeply, it takes a while.
Finished! Remember that WIP I posted last year, where I said the TARDIS was next? Finally finished it!!! Complete with TARDIS, stars, and Weeping Angels. I wish I could have made it long enough to wrap around my neck but I ran out of the black yarn and I bought it YEARS ago. Rough pattern (more of a recipe) for this cowl --> My Favorite Things Cowl
If you use lighter than worsted yarn (as I did), cast on more stitches, or you will be like me and have too tight of stitches on too small of a circular needle.
I used a lot of different colorwork patterns but the Dr. Who one is --> Dr. Who Fair Isle
I feel like I’ve almost hit a wall with my knitting.
I want some knitspiration!
TUMBLR KNITTERS REBLOG THIS AND I WILL FOLLOW YOU.
(if I already follow you, reblog this so your cool knitting followers can reblog it.)

I finally finished this shawl, I love the result, but I have these mixed feelings with it (one of the reasons I took so long to finish it). An acquaintance talked me into knitting this for the PDX yarn crawl. This shawl was the mystery knit-along for that event. We talked a lot on FB via chat about it, and knitting. And then something happened and she stopped responding. My best guess is because I said no to a request. That was when the conversation dried up. Of course, it’s always hard to say exactly what went down, sometimes I read more stuff into radio silence than I should. And I tell myself that I really don’t want to be friends with people who can’t hear the word no. (again, if that even is what it is.) But still, you get to an age with kids that it makes it hard to make new friends. Several friends have moved out of state and while we are still friends, it’s not the same. So woe is me, this shawl is lovely but reminds me of how much I suck at making friends and/or keeping them. What do you do when a piece of knitting depresses you for dumb reasons but is otherwise quite lovely? pattern --> Washington Park Shawl
Yarn - Malabrigo and Knit Pick’s Capretta. The dark yarn is a lovely dark green with red highlights that I did not capture with the photo.
Finally finished the scarf/shawl for my middle sister for her birthday. Between this and the other shawl I’m still working on, I may burn all my fingering yarn. TINY STITCHES. This was an easy pattern to follow, just got tedious towards the end. (Hand knit) Pattern --> Frisson $4 on Ravelry Yarn - Black Trillium Lilt Sock Yarn in Sherlock
A WIP - I love Noro's crazy colorways.
My daughter needed a scarf to complete her Hermoine costume for Dress Like Your Favorite Book Character at school. Thanks to the knitting machine, I was able to whip out the knitting part in an hour, then it took me another few for the finishing. Still trying to get the mattress stitch right, as you can see. And I know many hand knitters think that machine knitting is cheating, but I can tell you, machine knitting has its own learning curve. I would say it is like sewing on a machine vs sewing by hand, neither is cheating. I personally dislike knitting stockinette (find it dull) and the machine really excels at that. Or it should once I figure out the kinks. Or tension. It's ALL about the tension. And I have continued to hand knit as well.
Working on my first shawl . . . I'm not much of a shawl wearing person. . . but I am beginning to see why people like to knit them - the knitting is quite fun!
Recently went back to crochet to finish this baby blanket I started in 2013. The second photo is what this baby looks like now. So yeah, FINALLY FINISHED.Â
Me before I bought a swift.
I say this all the time and it is totally lost on my kids. But sometimes my sister is over and she gets it and the we poor some scotch and laugh. Or something like that. OFF THE HOOK. STEVE HOLT.
 I am changing.
Yes . . . I used to prefer knitting from written out instructions but now I find myself wanting charts. CHARTS. Who knows were this will lead next?
