When I see a lynx therian put pictures of a bobcat π
Bobcats have longer tails than a lynx, and have a white tail tip meanwhile lynxβs have black tail tips- cant see the tail in the picture? Lynxβs always have way longer ear tufts than bobcats, and their paws are way bigger and fluffier compared to that of a bobcat- and bobcats are usually smaller than lynxβs.
YOU ARE SO RIGHT
YESS
However, I do have somethings to add.
(Srry for ranting; I love ranting abt animals, especially my 'type.)
It isn't entirely wrong to say lynx since bobcats are a subspecies. HOWEVER, a lot of creatures here don't recognise the numerous subspecies, so they just put lynx and whatever images are associated.
The other image you showed is specifically of a Canada lynx (me me me)!!
While your comparisons are correct, pls note there are other species that are different. Not all other subspecies have paws as fluffy/snowshoe paws ^^' Those are adaptations to their cold climate and I've realised that Canada lynx seem to be the only ones with hind paws in that exact shape. Though I may be wrong.
I still get the over all point though.
As a Canada lynx, it's rather annoying to see moodboards & the like labelled as lynx, sometimes even as Canada lynx specifically, and all the images are bobcats or, more commonly, Eurasian lynx. T^T
Exactly π’ trying to find videos of bobcats can be frustrating because its videos of Canadian lynx, eurasian lynx, not a bobcat πΏ

Humans saw my unique silver dark coat - different from the rest, all the same red cloaks of fur they had grown. I was different. I was strange. I was weird. They knew I was an easy target- because I didnβt blend in with the rest. They demonized me, dehumanized me and degraded me, called me a mutilated beast defying god and a threat to society They saw it and took it as a challenge to their order - and everyone believed that I was the senseless angry beast. They raised their pitchforks - set their traps - got on their horses , and readied their hounds. They trapped me,shot me,skinned me of my fur, made it illegal for me to exist- banning me from being visible. Everyone believed the higher powers lies, because I were small and they were big.
A letter to the coyote.
(Text)
Dear Coyote,
I do not blame you for what you do,
I do not blame you for what you are,
You do as you need.
You are as needed.
People want you dead for it.
You know this.
When I am among people,
I think I understand you.
But, when I see you,
Wearing your target as a crown
Playing and loping
Surviving.
I feel the brunt of my humanity

Bobcats are just a subspecies of lynx, if it was the other way around I'd understand but.. /lh
I know its a subspecies of lynx, but theres still a clear difference
Yes, but they're still lynx are they not? So if a lynx therian uses some pictures of a bobcat what's the matter; they're still showing their kin?
Theres still a difference between them - you arenβt getting the point
You aren't getting the point; Yes "there is still a difference" BUT THEY'RE BOTH STILL LYNXS so why does it fuckin matter
Thats like saying a coyote is the same as a wolf because theyre both canines. Never said it mattered its just a pet peeve of mine, youre blowing this waaay out of proportion.
That's a bad analogy, because bobcats and lynxs are the same species while coyotes and wolves are not. A better example would have been a timber wolf and a sea wolf. Well obviously it does matter if you decided to make a post shaming people about it, and continue to reblog this. No one's forcing you to stay in this argument, you're free to leave.
Im not shaming people get out bruh
Made this to help with snout dysphoria

Nice start to some Saturday morning picture taking!

Silver Fox
In the wild silver foxes are extremely rare.
They are a melanistic form of the red fox (Vulpes vulpes)
Silver foxes are bluish-grey and some have a cinereous colour on the sides.

Awhile ago I accidentally bought my theriotypes tail, (bobcat) even though the seller said it was a lynx
It was purchased off of etsy.
Bob cat tails have a white tail tip and are usually longer than that of a lynxβs tail that has a black tail tip.
