Watching the girl come back to the earth, Drew looking confused why she was looking at him for so long. He knew he looked good but he thought there was no need to stare so long.  

"Okay, do you do this a lot? And yeah I arrived last night."

"Uh, not generally" Hennessey laughed awkwardly before retaining her confidence.

She eyed the boy, assessing his countenance before making a decision on him, she usually wasn't one to be the welcoming party but she guessed now was her opportunity. She smiled at him, "well I'm Hennessey, I own the vineyard and brewery in town" she crossed her arms proudly, affirming her introduction. "You should come on by sometime, are you eighteen?" she joked, referencing his young looks even though she was quite young herself. "And welcome I guess, I hope you enjoy staying here" she smiled again and held out her hand, waiting for him to shake it.

"Uh okay, what do you want?"

Hennessey stopped and stared at the boy, blinking a few times before registering what he said. She blushed, embarrassed by her standing there staring at him, she didn't even mean to stop him.

"Oh I'm sorry, I'm a bit frazzled today, I haven't seen you around town though, are you new?"

Oceana’s consecutive reaction to having her tea all over the floor was to look straight at the person seated on the table, which the bag was leaning on. She didn’t look furious, or at least she hope she didn’t, rather it might have shown that she was a little frustrated. Although, in no way did she intend to place blame on the owner of the bag, rather she would blame the fragile and fickle concept of sheer bad luck. Upon hearing the apologetic tone of the girl who sat at the table, her frustration quickly melted away. “Oh, that’s alright. I guess I’m just having one of those ‘wonderful’ days we all get sometimes, huh?,” said Oceana, placing certain sarcasm on the word ‘wonderful’. She took the napkins offered to her by the girl with a small smile and muttered, “Thanks,” before starting to wipe up the tea.

Oceana couldn’t help but smile when she heard the girl offer to buy her another cuppa as a gesture to recompense. She loved it when people were nice to her. It showed her that not everyone simply slapped a label on her that said ‘Siren’ and pre-judged her every action in a negative and critical manner. However, just as Oceana was indulging in the idea of an open minded demigod, a sudden thought hit her and her heart sank once more. Could it be possible that perhaps she has no idea of what I am? With that thought, Oceana’s smile faded and she kept her focus on wiping up the tea. “No, no that’s really not necessary. I can always just get another one later,” she responded with short and quick glances at the girl’s face, so as to not seem too rude. “I hope none of the tea got onto your books or bag. I wouldn’t want it to leave a stain of sorts.”

"Are you sure? You could always join me as well, I haven't seen you around, I'm Hennessey by the way" she shook her hand out, trying to get the wet tea off her hand before shaking the other girls', laughing as she did. With a sloppy hand shake she smiled openly to the girl, glad that she didn't blame her for this mishap. At the mention of 'those days' she chuckled, knowing full well what it meant to have bad luck chasing you around all day. The tea was beginning to disappear, leaving a nice stain on the floor of the coffee shop that would only be picked up by a mop. Sitting back on her knees, she stood up straight, wiping her forehead with the back of her hand and looking at the girl. Hennessey was sure she had seen her before, but they had never formally met, she felt bad that this was the way they had to meet.

Hennessey was also pretty sure of who she was, being a siren always came with side glances in this town, a fact that she hated of demi-gods for, she had always tried to keep an open mind. Sirens were people too in her head and she didn't want to condemn them for the actions of their ancestors, she had never been attacked by one so why should she shun them. And while Hennessey had never met a siren before, they seemed pleasant enough now to confirm her beliefs. Hennessey hoped it didn't seem like she was trying too hard to be nice to the girl, she wanted to make a good impression. "Oh I'm sure they're fine, even if they're not at least they'll smell good now" she grinned, Hennessey was quite laid-back even in situations like these, it was hard to get on her bad side even with spilled tea. Looking at her bookbag everything looked pristine, even the strap was untouched by the tea and Hennessey sighed in relief, glad that she wouldn't have to explain to a mad librarian what happened. She could just see herself there, standing in front of them, madly trying to tell the story with her hands waving in the air, it was quite the sight in her head and she laughed out loud, startling the girl.

Oceana had just picked up a cuppa from Demeter’s Den. Originally, she had planned on taking her sweet time to just chill in the cozy little cafe run by the friendly wood nymphs and demigods that have not, thus far, showed any obvious signs of minding that she was a Siren. However, that afternoon, she had walked in to find the cafe a little more crowded than expected. Not feeling up to having to put up with the occasional apprehensive glance from a passerby demigod, Oceana decided that she’d have her cuppa on-the-go. On her way out, Oceana hasn’t noticed a the end of a bag strap, extending out from the where the owner’s bag lay at the foot of the cafe table, lying on the floor on her path. Oblivious, and quite unlucky too, Oceana’s shoe had scooped up the bag strap sending her off her balance. Catching her balance just in the nick of time was hard enough without having to worry about spilling a piping hot cup of earl grey on the floor - and thus she failed in the latter. 

There she stood, her mouth in a small surprised ‘o’ as she stared at half her cup’s contents on the cafe floor. “Great,” said Oceana sarcastically as she heaved a sigh and began to look around for a napkin.

When Hennessey had gotten to Demeter's Den it had just started picking up in traffic, not too full but not too empty either. She had been running around the town all day, doing odd house calls which involved her dropping off wines and running errands for herself. She hadn't been out of the house in a quite a few days now and was enjoying the atmosphere of having other people around her. Sighing she took her cup of coffee and held it closer to her face, fogging up her glasses, her eyes were too tired to wear contacts today. A good cup of joe solved everything, she thought and just as she was about to take a sip she felt her bag jerk forward. Reaching down to grab it, thinking someone was trying to steal from her she immediately looked up, seeing a girl standing there with her mouth open, half-bent forward, and her cup of tea on the floor. Scrambling, Hennessey immediately grabbed some napkins and began pushing them around on the floor, trying to clean the mess up. 

"Shit, I am so sorry about that, I shouldn't leave my bag lying around, are you okay?" She rambled, handing some napkins to the girl so she could help her. Hennessey felt terrible, she wasn't known for being a slob but leaving her bag out in the open like that really made her seem like one. "How about I buy you another cup of tea, to make it up to you" she smiled up at the girl, hoping to reconcile things.

Camira whipped herself around to look in the direction of Hennessy’s voice. She exhaled and hooked her hands on her hips and tried to hide her surprise, thinking she was alone before. “Well, it’s rude to sneak up on people too, but I’m not complaining,” She playfully sneered at Hennessy before accepting the invitation to sit. She began pulling off her shoes, looking around at the interior around her. “…So, uh, you decorate all this yourself?”

"Mostly, I had some help too" Hennessey said, smiling at the memory, "you should have seen this place when I first moved in, nothing but a mattress on the floor and clothes everywhere. What a mess that was" she laughed. Hennessey watched Camira look around as if she had never seen the place before, she had done renovations recently and was proud of the newly added wall with carvings of scenes from Greek tragedies. Bottles of wine filled with little lights littered the room, all different sizes and types, Ivy plants falling like waterfalls over ledges everywhere. Hennessey loved her home, it was a rustic kind of cozy and inviting. "How have you been lately, greeting all the newcomers I assume. Can I get you anything, water, wine, some food maybe?"

After letting herself into someone’s place, she proceeds to look through their things. She points at a particular item of furniture. “Hate that,” She turns, sees something else, and then points at that as well. “Hate that too.”

Walking up to her home attached to the brewery was no easy feat, the sidewalk was chipped and overgrown with grass and roots, her home, including the door, was covered in ivy vines, looking like the earth had reclaimed her entire house. Pushing the door open she couldn't say she was surprised to see Camira there, it wasn't the first time the wind nymph had unexpectedly shown up to her place.

"You know it's rude to not take your shoes off in someone else's home" she said lightly, stifling a laugh at the girls startled expression.

Waving her hand she gestured for her to sit down, motioning towards the purple furniture.

"Just some codes for a website," Jack replies, looking at her directly, trying not to focus on the crowd of people. He moves his computer to the side a little to not block him from keeping eye contact. Jack didn’t want to be rude. "What brings, you to Demeter’s Den… it’s Hennessey, right?" he asks. Hennessey wasn’t exactly a name you forget though it’s putting names to faces he only passed by and helped was the tricky part.

"Yeah, just like the cognac, my mother had a sense of humour when she named me it seems" Hennessey joked, laughing lightly, she knew her name was odd. "Oh I'm just here after running a few errands around town, wanted to stop and rest for a while. Besides we all need to get out every once in a while" she winked, hinting to the fact that she had been quite the hermit lately, hiding out in the vineyard, working on her new crop of grapes. It had been tedious lately and it showed, dark circles rested underneath her eyes heavily, showing the world about her tiredness.

"What about yourself, just came here to work I suppose?"

Mati looked up when a shadow clouded her vision and smiled briefly as she gathered the papers all, “Oh, it’s nothing. Just you know, still settling in.” Mati shook her head, keeping her voice down for the sake of her sleeping daughter, “The town’s pretty friendly, surprisingly, so I think it’s safe to say I’m doing good. Oh, I’m Mati.” Mati held a hand out to the girl, then gestured for her to sit down.

"I'm Hennessey" she said, shaking her hand and taking the seat. "I run the vineyard and brewery in town" Hennessey announced proudly, keeping her voice down for the sleeping child. She was glad Mati was fitting in okay and finding everyone friendly, it was hard moving, Hennessey knew the challenges from when she first moved here.

"So who's sleeping beauty over there" she said in a hushed tone, getting a better look to who she assumed was Mati's daughter.

When Jack got to Demeter’s Den it was only about 3 quarters of the way full, it made Jack a bit anxious because of his claustrophobia. In an attempt of making peace with it and working on his computer, Jack took the empty table in the corner against the far side wall after finally receiving a large cup of black coffee. He sat down opening his computer and working on a code. 

He was halfway through the html code when he heard the girl’s voice. He looked up at her, recognizing her as the woman who manages the vineyard. He looks at his surroundings, noticing the people had almost doubled since he walked in, biting his lip,  bit anxious,he nodded at the girl’s question. “Yeah, it’s cool with me.”

"Thanks" she sat down across from him.

She couldn't help but notice him being on edge, jumping as people bustled by. Frowning she looked towards his computer, remembering him as the tech-wiz Hephaestus kid. She had never really interacted with him before, only ever seeing him in passing, but she did remember having him help her set up her digital inventory system once upon a time.

"So what are you working on" she asked, trying to take his mind off of the crowd, to calm him down.

Josie was asleep in the stroller beside Mati, so she had time to finally start going through the college brochures and applications she picked up - as well as the application for a daycare teacher as well, and she stared at them quietly, for a moment she drowned out all noise around her except Josie’s breathing and frowned.

Hennessey immediately noticed the sullen countenance of the girl across the room from her. She didn't recognize her face or her child at all, in fact she had never seen her around town before today. Standing up she went over to the girl, cautiously approaching.

"Hi there, I couldn't notice that you looked kind of down, you also look new, are you fitting in okay?"

Demeter's Den was filled to the brim with people, overflowing amounts in line waiting for their next fix of caffeine, the barista spilled, overfilling a cup, it reminded Hennessey of her surroundings. Someone bumped into her but said nothing, she stared after them, glaring as they continued on their journey. She couldn't see any open tables and while leaving was an option, she preferred to stay. Weaving her head in and out she couldn't see a thing past the person standing infront of her but she finally spotted it. An empty chair sat against the far side of the wall. Saying her 'excuse me's' and 'sorry's' she pushed her way quickly through the crowd, making her way to the empty seat before realizing someone else sat on the other side.

"Mind if I join you" she smiled.

Adrian winced when he saw all the glass on the ground, the sidewalk staining with the color of the wine. “Oh, fuck, I’m so sorry about that,” he apologizes again, biting his lip as he looked at her. He leaned down to help her pick up the bottles, and to see if he could pick up some of the larger pieces of glass before Ambrosios came by and threw a fit, but then her head smacked against his, Adrian backing up and placing a hand to his forehead where she had bumped into him. He couldn’t help but laugh some, unable to believe his luck. 

"No, no don’t worry about it," he assures, rubbing his head some and taking the chance to lean down and pick up some of the bottles for her.

Hennessey laughed as well, rubbing her forehead with her free hand as she began collecting books. "It's fine, I seem to be having the worst of luck today anyways"

Reaching down, she was careful not to bump his head again as she watched him collect the bottles for her. Once she cleared the sidewalk of her totebag and books she stood up, smiling at him when she saw the intact bottles in his arms. Taking them from him she laughed again, "at least the empty ones didn't break, I wanted some opinions on them before I order all new bottles, and besides it isn't like I don't have more wine back home" she joked, handing one of the empty bottles to Adrian for him to look at, hoping she had made him feel less guilty about crashing into her.

She knew exactly what he was seeing, a completely frosted bottle with raw string wrapped around the bottle neck, grapes were raised in the glass complete with leaves and vines, a thyrsus on the front with Dionysus written underneath. It was bare, but it was bold. Biting her lip she hoped he liked it, she wanted to lure new customers to her shop with pretty glass bottles and she hadn't seen Adrian in her shop for a while. Maybe it was the fates that she had crashed into him, now she could tempt him with the nice looking glassware.

"You’ve got that right!" she exclaimed, she hated those stop and shop wines, to her they were no better than expired apple juice. 

"But I think I have something that could work" she said more to herself than to Lia, she began walking around the store, perusing the white wines until she found what she was looking for.

"You know it would be wonderful if it got chillier, I need to make a new batch of ice wines, you wouldn’t believe how fast it sells out" she yelled from across the room as she searched, hinting towards a spell.

"Aha!" grabbing two bottles she walked back over to where Lia was standing.

Handing her two bottles, each with an emblazoned thyrsus in the glass of the bottle, Dionysus Wines written across the front, one was a light pale colour, glimmering in the sunlight, the other a light pink, glowing like a faint blush in the light of the store.

"A light bodied Pinot Grigio is always a classic for something like Chicken Alfredo, but my personal recommendation would be White Zinfandel" she said pointing to the pink one "most everyone likes the taste of it, even non-winos" she laughed "taking both home as well and deciding later wouldn’t be a bad idea either, are you looking for a dessert wine too?"

Hennessey hoped she hadn’t overwhelmed Lia with all the information, she was just always excited to talk about wines.

Lia laughs when Hennessy makes her distaste for the Stop n Shop wines known, watching as the girl left her side to find a wine for her, Lia waiting patiently by leaning on the counter. She listens to Hennessy as she speaks, telling her that it be wonderful if it were chiller, “Well the protective border around town makes it hard to get cold around here, but I can probably whip something up for you that allows just your vineyard section of town to get the northern frost.” She calls back to her, before pushing off the counter when she hears Hennessy’s exclamation, smiling as the girl walks back over to her. Lia listens intently as she explains the wines, nodding her head and looking at the pretty bottles, her smile widening and her laughing a little, “I am definitely not a wino, me and alcohol is just a very bad mix.” She explains, waving her hand to the side like she was dismissing the thought, “But I thought a little wine would be nice, and I think I’ll just take both, I know for sure Adrian and Theo will end up finishing both bottles off.” She says happily, smiling at Hennessy, “And no, no I think these are good for me, three bottles of wine might just be over my spending price.”

"No problem, I completely understand" Hennessey said to her reference of spending price, wines could get expensive quickly and she always tried to respect a patrons budget. "Ah that'd be wonderful, I'll have to treat you to lunch sometime for that, I'm a pretty mean cook myself" Hennessey smiled brightly.

Ringing Lia up, they began small talking asking about business and how it went for the both of them. 

"How are Adrian and Theo doing anyway? I haven't seen them in a while" she asked, packing the bag up.

Both being shop owners Hennessey could relate to Lia quite a lot and enjoyed her company when she had it.

"Next time you're here I can show you our selection of non-alcoholic wines, I have quite a few, so you can enjoy the taste without getting those 'bad effects'" she winked at Lia.

She handed the brown paper bag to Lia, making sure she had a good grip on it before releasing her own hold on the bag.  "I hope you enjoy".
