* DORCAS !·
“ why would i care about the list anyway ? “ the lie slipped off her lips with ease, ignoring the dark circles under her eyes. a list containing the names of the fighters - it was any spy’s worst nightmare, and she didn’t take it lightly. all her resources and networking were on it, all her focus was on it, but she was perhaps too afraid to say anything outloud. “ you can put anyone’s name into it - some blood traitors, some mudbloods, a couple of celebs, some sacred twnety-eight. you can start a war within a war just by guessing. “ she shrugged, signaling to ariel for another refill. “ when does your shift end ? “ it was clear that dorcas was there to hide from the list, even if just for a few hours, and from the fears that kept her from sleeping. to hide by ariel, as if the tiny blonde was a powerful protector.
ariel couldn’t help the small smile that formed on her lips at the sound of the girls voice --- a comforting notion in amongst the chaos of the ever so loud pub. there was a part of her that itched to throw her apron up on the bar and storm right out of there with the girl in hand, but she knew her duties ( she needed the money ) and she couldn’t help but notice the dark purple that lined the others’ eyes. ❛ facts are a scary thing but ‘ educated guesses ’ are only worse. ❜ ariel could tell that a part of dorcas was worried, she knew that the order was completely on edge about the rumoured situation, and with that knowledge she couldn’t help but feel a twinge of worry in her own stomach. if it were true, it would indeed be a problem --- and perhaps she should’ve been more concerned about that then she currently was. smiling nonetheless, she summoned a glass from the other end of the bar, filling it with dark liquor and offering it to the girl. ❛ half an hour. soon enough, so long as everyone actually leaves this time. i’m supposed to be closing early. ❜
