Speaker Nancy Pelosi on why she ripped up President Trump’s speech: “Because it was the courteous thing to do considering the alternatives.”
Things in post-sorkin tww that actually have rights:
Josh and Donna FINALLY getting together sjdsjdinsi
Matt & Helen Santos
Arnie Vinick
CJ becoming chief of staff and kicking ASS
The Supremes
The Bartlet walks to the hill scene
Idk what it is about her but Vinick's assistant Sheila. I stan her so hard
Donna getting a full character arc, coming into her own and building a bigger career for herself
CJ and Toby's friendship gets a lot of nice moments
Seeing the effects of Jed's MS
The hospital room scene after Gaza. Damn it turns on the waterworks
The peacetalks storyline was okay ig
The social security episode
Sam coming back at the end
How they handled both John Spencer's and Leo's death. Heartbreaking man
The last episode
Like, Mallory being the one to give Jed the napkin
And the CJ/Danny scene in the apartment
It was just really good
Richard Schiff's acting in that scene with CJ after his brother died. Damn. I'm crying just thinking about it
The 'You done good kid' scene
Really all the Josh/Leo stuff in s7, how he made him vp and how devastated Josh was after he died
Helen making Donna her chief of staff!
Angela Bassett was pretty badass, I liked her
CJ not going back to the white house. She had done her time there and she was finished with it
The Congressmen effectively having a sleepover
I'll probably think of more later
Speaker Pelosi rips up Trump’s State of the Union speech in front of the entire world ✊ 💜

Cat Smith takes an in-depth look into the psyche of Will McAvoy, Jeff Daniels' Emmy-winning character from Aason Sorkin's The Newsroom
“Will McAvoy is the character on Aaron Sorkin’s The Newsroom that won Jeff Daniels an Emmy Award in 2013, and it’s easy enough to see why. He’s a brilliantly written and complex character, and Daniels’ portrayal of him is just gorgeous. All that said—it’s May, and that makes it Mental Health Awareness Month, and it is in that context that I want to talk about Will.“
danny: and i know you don't really like me, but--
cj: i don't dislike you. i nothing you.
danny: oh, thanks. that's-- that's special.

I agree with everthing, but Toby should 100% be a Slytherin
i think there’s a more-than-would-be-statistically-expected overlap between late teen/early 20s girls who are weirdly obsessed with the west wing and who also watch figure skating and i cannot for the life of me figure out why
This is actually me (side note: have never figure skated a day in my life, just love it)
listen. i know we all talk a lot of shit but. aaron sorkin’s season 4 will baliey was one of the most idealistic, eloquent, driven, noble west wing caracters who got a dead guy elected to orange county, he literally changed us foreign policy with the inauguration speech and he had it bad for sam seaborn
me watching parks and recreation: working in government is fun and will lead to lifelong friendships and great change for citizens!
me watching veep: working in government is terrible and will make you hate everyone and prove change is impossible!
me watching west wing: working in politics is honorable and courageous and will let you interact with the greatest and most heroic people in the country!
me watching house of cards: working in government will get you murdered!
David Harbour as Elliot Hirsch in The Newsroom
Season 3, Episode 1. “Boston”
-We’re seventh in literacy, 27th in math, 22nd in science, 49th in life expectancy. 178th in infant mortality, third in median household income, number four in labor force and number four in exports. We lead the world in only three categories: number of incarcerated citizens per capita, number of adults who believe angels are real, and defense spending, where we spend more than the next 26 countries combined.
