I love the Macon little theater, but some of the people in it make me sick.
1. I fucking hate Trevor Charles Bellflower. He has sexually assaulted multiple people (at least five from what I know, and raped someone he was dating.) I don’t think he has any charges against him because people either can’t speak up, aren’t in the means to charge him, or other reasons. I physically cannot be in the same room as him or else I risk the thoughts of wanting to strangle him.
2. Family show director Sylvia Haynie, she was semi-inclusive and sensitive about gender expression thankfully, but she’s a mess of a director and unnecessarily mean to some of the people she casts. She forgets everything, never makes comprehensive notes, and changes things constantly, even during the last days of tech week. I know two people who came to her to talk about Trevor (people who were victims of him) and she ignored them. She didn’t have to believe them, but ignoring them is a whole other thing.
3. This isn’t a person, but the favoritism and recasting of the same core people is annoying. I’m not saying this as an actor who is “jealous” (I only ever want ensemble anyway), I’m saying this as a viewer. It’s easy to predict who they will cast in every main role. Are these people talented? Yes, yes they are. But I want to see more variety in the casting, I’m bored of the same lead actors in every show.
4. I really want to audition for shows, but knowing that Trevor will be at many of them, and unsure if Mrs. Haynie will be directing the show or not, I can’t do it anymore. I want to be in shows but I can’t if these are the people who are in them. I am hoping, begging, and praying that neither will be in a specific show I REALLY want to do, but I expect them to be.
I’m sad and disappointed and God, please give me the strength to not crash out
