“It’s about family. Not necessarily the one we were born with, but the one we choose. This one. The people we trust to be part of our lives. The people we care about. ”
Vincent Van Gogh, Roses 1890
This is my swan song. This is my double curse: I can never escape. I can never come near.

greek goddess of spring and queen of the underworld
“Being the only female in what was basically a boys’ club must have been difficult for her. Miraculously, she didn’t compensate by becoming hard or quarrelsome. She was still a girl, a slight lovely girl who lay in bed and ate chocolates, a girl whose hair smelled like hyacinth and whose scarves fluttered jauntily in the breeze. But strange and marvelous as she was, a wisp of silk in a forest of black wool, she was not the fragile creature one would have her seem.”
—Donna Tartt, The Secret History
you must find your own rising: swallow your death down. drown in the consumption of opposites.

@palmettofoxesnet first event ; major characters / neil josten “You know, I get it. Being raised as a superstar must be really, really difficult for you. Always a commodity, never a human being, not a single person in your family thinking you’re worth a damn off the court— yeah, sounds rough. Kevin and I talk about your intricate and endless daddy issues all the time. I know it’s not entirely your fault that you are mentally unbalanced and infected with these delusions of grandeur, and I know you’re physically incapable of holding a decent conversation with anyone like every other normal human being can, but I don’t think any of us should have to put up with this much of your bullshit. Pity only gets you so many concessions, and you used yours up about six insults ago. So please, please, just shut the fuck up and leave us alone.”
“— but at night she bloomed like a moon-flower and a depth came into her eyes.”
– Stephen Vincent Benét, “The King of the Cats”

Slavic mythological figures [10/?] ↳ Živa, Żiwia, Siva, Sieba or Razivia
A goddes from Slavic folklore, ŽIVA meaning " living, being, existing ” was worshipped throughout what is now Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Germany. She was the greatest female deity in the pantheon of Polabians. Živa was above all the goddess of water. In the consciousness of people she represented the concept of life, personified by water. She was their first “goddess”, even before mother Earth, who rules when the spread of agriculture follows.
She gave strength to plants and animals and awakens them to life, giving healing power to the plants, water sources and stones, so it is also said she is the goddess of healing, has the power to heal, to awaken to life and even revive. In all the living flows. She was ften assimilated with the ground, it was highly revered and respected. Živa was celebrated in the spring, when everything starts to awaken after the cold winter.
