And while I don't actually think we have an obligation to our blood family just because they're blood, these siblings choose each other time and time again. They loved, they cared for, they forgave. They were a family because they fought so hard to be. I love that Ian so often just wants to go home and hang with his siblings. He dotes on the little ones. He tells the big ones what they need to hear. He's not perfect, but he tries so hard. And that's why I wanted to highlight the little joys Ian experiences in his sibling's company. <3

I want late 90s early 00s era Gallavich during the hype of making those multi-string colored friendship bracelets. Ian and Mandy slaving over stupid complicated ones on the porch and Ian secretly deciding he’s gonna make one for Mickey—not because they’re friends, but because Mickey doesn’t seem to have any friends at all.

Ian makes it for him and plays it off like he made a ton and has extra, and that Mickey can just tie it on his key ring or his backpack zipper, it’s not a big deal.

And then Ian never sees it ever again.

Until months and months later in the dead of high summer, when they’re all at the Gallagher backyard pool, and Mickey agrees to strip from his ever-present Timbs boots etc to swim with the lot of them—and the ragged bracelet has been secretly around his ankle, hidden away all damn summer.

And Ian, who has been struggling not to read into anything ever about this guy, suddenly has PLENTY of thoughts.

I think about Mickey calling Ian "stud" every day of my life. Ooooh he thinks he's a stud. He's all big and handsome and gives it to him so good and he's a stud! And it's been said before but there's something so endearing about Mickey using these terms and nicknames for Ian that feel almost outdated. It's so sweet. Stud. Lover. LOVER. Ohhhhhhh
