Day 15: Redraw a scene

S3 Ep14, Dante’s kids come to the rescue.

Every time I have to rewatch scenes to grab references I am again reminded why I will never rewatch the series. My god the voice acting and dialogue choices make me so uncomfortable, it feels like I’m watching a poorly dubbed anime.

Not that it matters, I changed everything about the scene anyways lol. I know there’s serious limitations with the animation, but why did they hype up Nekoette’s skills only to have her get kicked to the ground immediately? And why is Dmitri just watching it happen?

In my version Naoko holds her own against Gene while Dmitri helps Dante recover before jumping in to help his sister. They still end up losing because Gene is an adult, but they held out long enough for the mom brigade to arrive, and Nicole and Nana handily finish the fight.

Also Naoko calls him Appa now, because father felt way too formal. Dante feels the greatest relief hearing that, knowing that his children still know who he is.

A random headcanon of mine is that Nekoette actually takes most after Gene appearance wise. It's really hard for Dante to explain to Nana, since Nekoette to an unknowing eye would look like a perfect mashup of her two parents.

But there's something in the shape of those brown eyes, the same shade of her Mother's, alongside the way her hair parts at the side and curls at the ends, with a ever so slightly crooked smile, that keeps Dante up at night. Because no matter where he runs, Gene will always be with him in memory, blood, or shadow.

thinking abt how vylad had so many opportunities to be more utilized in mystreet and pdh.

aphmau following vylad to school like how that one repost of my vylad post said. vylad joining the shadow knights to rebel against his parents as a product of infidelity. perhaps even vylad running away and dissappearing, to mirror him dying in mcd, only to reappear in mystreet to reveal he has been traveling the world without his brother's knowledge. him warning aphmau that the lodge is not safe, only for her to go anyways, and its revealed that mystreets irene (mcd aphmau) was the one who had told him about it in his dreams, as if aphmau had rememebered that vylad was the one who placed the staff that reincarnated her in mcd, so she uses his mystreet counterpart to convey messages to mystreet aphmau. not even as a main character, but retaining his mysterious aura that he held in mcd. just. he was so underutilized.
