because i’m such an armand fan, i had prepared myself to not see him as much in TVL, like “oh they’ll have to cut a lot just like they did with the first book, they have so much ground to cover, louis and daniel are gonna be actual characters now, not to mention new ideas like the band & documentary and new characters to explore, i shouldn’t expect to see armand all the time”

but then they didn’t do any new stuff or develop new characters or feature daniel or louis or adapt almost anything from the book… so like what was the point

like i don’t think it’s awful or anything but it doesn’t feel like a good use of their time and resources. if you take 2 years to make 7 episodes you have to keep it really tight and i don’t think they accomplished that

Rolin confirmed that they will be bringing Luke back for future seasons, we barely scratched the surface of past DM in this episode and ofc some of you are already doomposting. God this fandom is hell on earth sometimes.

Did some of you want Armand to do a full marvel style recap of everything that happened in the past between him and Daniel in one single episode? If they're keeping some major stuff for future scenes or reveals with Luke it makes sense they wouldn't reveal it by just Armand casually saying it. Its better to show than tell. And I'm not saying they will 100% do full on past DM cuz I'm not in the writing room, but people immediately throwing away the idea of past DM relationship cuz Armand hasn't recited the full DM chapter is actually wild. (Mind you, Armand has been stalking him for 52 years and he only mentioned stuff past 1990).

I say let them cook.
