I was asked to create a LEGO version of the shoe designed by Chase Swearingen, one of the kids who participated as a designer in this years Doernbecher Freestyle program. It was given to him as a thank you gift due to his love of LEGO.
The final build was 4,500+ bricks, weighs 11 pounds, and is two and a half feet long. It features his lighthouse logo on the back, and I believe the shoe would be about a size 30. It was so incredible to be involved in such a cool project! I hope Chase enjoys his shoe, because I had a lot of fun designing and building the LEGO model of it.
This link has more information about the event, as well as more pictures of Chase's actual shoe!  I also found a video of the shoe being presented to Chase at the auction.
