Like, not for the naive teenage innocence and fandom drama we all had. Though it has an odd charm, looking back.
I just miss the fandom being united in one place, instead of fragmented over half a dozen social media sites and twice as many discords.
Nowadays 810 feels like the only time of year where the entire community comes together into one place. And it's magical each year, but also over again so quickly every time.
It's just ... whenever you wanna present some question or project to the fandom at large, you can either post it in Nteen places or you wait for August. And submitting to 810 feels so official and nerve-wracking, cause it puts so many eyes at you all at once. And the format doesn't work for some forms of media.
There is so much amazing fanwork being done that gets missed because people only post it on one or two sites. Back in the day you'd just make a topic on BZP and whoever was interested responded. And if something got big, everyone heard of it.
idk, maybe I'm just feeling nostalgic, but ... I miss it
