Side note on this: all those college conservatives saying liberal professors are shutting them down because of their conservative ideas and refusing to hear otherwise? In my experience the “shut down” is just being asked to DEFEND their position for the first time and not accepting shitty half thought out “proofs” that fall apart on their own.

i don’t know how to say it but please keep an eye on Hong Kong. it is now illegal for people in hk to speak out or ask for international support/foreign aid under the crime of collusion with foreign forces. a new national security agency is coming to hk to enforce this and they are authorized to surveillance those they suspect. The population of 7.5 million people are all expected to comply esp since they are installing officers to prevent protests in the wake of the bill
people are already getting arrested for having leaflets on them the day the law was published. the new law potentially crimininalizes all protests. "inciting hatred" towards prc/hk government is punishable up to life imprisonment if there is "potential of serious consequences" which could mean anything especially if protests are involved.
to this day i cannot BELIEVE aang called up and blew off like nine avatars just because they didnt offer any vegan options to ending the war
