I feel like the wind in the Gorge is a love-hate thing. It can make it pretty cold but it sure does make for awesome photos! I'll take the cold any day. // This actually reminds me of my own maternity shoot with @courtneydelanophotography . It was sooooooo cold (I had a winter baby) but those photos are amazing <3

Today, I conquered both a fear and goal of mine. It might sound weird but most goals probably have some level of fear tangled in it. I started swimming! Do I know what I'm doing? not fully. Does it give me anxiety, yes! Did it feel amazing to do something I've never tried before? Hell yes. Swimming is a crazy work out, I'm excited to feel good, see results and strengthen my technique 🏊‍♀️. Why am I even telling you all? Because I have had so many goals inside my head, that I've never said out loud. Wow. This mom life is no joke, I opened Instagram and started to add this photo, 3 hours ago. The other day, I was nursing Elsie in the morning while working on my laptop in bed. She threw up all over my shirt and my hand. I tried to get my headphones off with one hand because the other was holding spit up. It ended up tangling my hair, finally I got it out and took my shirt off, wiped the spit up with my shirt, grabbed Elsie with one hand and went downstairs. My hair was so messed up, had baby on my hip, shirtless and my nursing bra undone on one side. My MIL was dying laughing at me. Well I have been MIA for a bit on here. Life for me has been one of those times, where things keep happening one after another. I am pushing back and continuing to progress in different areas in my life. The wild fires have been a stress. We had to leave our home due to the amount of smoke and looking out for Elsie. It was a complex feeling that I can't really put a name to, going through our things and deciding what could stay and what had to come with us. Finding where to draw the line, the idea of leaving some things behind and never seeing them again. I am glad we are back home and the air is so much better. I am grateful for all the fire fighters making it possible for us to return home. All of this puts things into perspective and in the end all that really matters is that my little family is safe and healthy. I did some work in the Estacada community and seeing the pain, tears, laughter, rain, and connection between the volunteers and victims of the fire that day was very raw. Estacada is a strong community and I am happy that some of my roots started there. Although 2020 has been very hard, there are great things that have happened. I am holding onto those things. Being a wedding photographer is one thing that I am grateful for. I get to see people in love and experiencing such a memorable day. Nick and Shannon decided to elope at Cathedral park and it was a perfect relaxed day. Congrats you two!
