Heads up for the folks who cook..
Waymo The God is an an anti-Black man who hates and disparaged Black women on social media for years. His misogynoir is atrocious (and he is a lawyer. Imagine being a Black woman represented by him). He just recently rebranded himself as Chef Way, and many Black women found out and pulled up his old tweets and dragged him for filth all over. He turned off his TikTok comments etc so people wouldn’t find out, (but Twitter remembers, lol). Some say his fiance (an Asian woman..lol of course! Such a cliche preference for dudes like this) is helping to delete negatve comments from people making others aware of his hatred for Black women.
He made a weak ass apology tweet on Twitter claiming that he is cured from his colorism and aggressive hatred of Black women. He only wrote that after folks drilled his ass.
If you love to cook culinary Black foods, do not support this man. Do not buy any products, books, or support any companies or high profile chefs who may partner with him.
Black people everywhere should no longer support individuals who hate, demean, and spread toxic bile publicly about Black women and think they can turn around and use our recipes to get rich. They can no longer profit on our backs.
You can go on Twitter to read his old tweets that people saved. He tried deleting his old comments (as one usually does when they are foul!) but folks are tired of the hateful disrespect. This man is vile. I saw some tweets where even his Mama came online claiming that’s not how he was raised at home with two parents present. But we know how that doesn’t mean much once people get out in the streets and away from Mommy and Daddy.
2023 is the year of yoking people up who are against Black women. Doesn’t matter if you are a man or a woman doing it. Shit ain’t cute. I don’t know how this dude thought he was going to market himself when Black women make up a huge audience of the culinary game.
Anyhoo, long-winded, but wanted folks who follow me to know. You see anything by him, please don’t support it if you love yourself and Black women. I don’t have the energy to suggest a redemptive arc for him like I would’ve done years ago to give people grace to change , but now, I don’t care if his cooking bag is stopped. You can’t market yourself to people you hate and think you’ll thrive.
