My 2019 Game Developers Conference talk, made available free on YouTube in 2021:

This 30 minute talk was rated 2nd best of the Education Summit and was in the top 20 of the conference.

It was followed by two hours of conversation with fascinating people right afterward, which I so wish was also recorded.

My Animation at the Metropolitan Museum of Art

This year I contributed art and animation to a live show running the month of July at The Met in NYC.

In 2002 a 500-year-old marble sculpture at the Met fell and shattered. Over twelve years the curators painstakingly repaired it, and to celebrate the re-installation the Met hired multimedia director Reid Farrington to create a live performance including a life-sized digital scan of the sculpture. I created most of the surface textures and all of the sculpts for facial expressions. Ask for the "Hand" and "Elbow" chapters to see my animations for chewing and lust :).

Dark Knight on a Dark Night, 2014 (and 2012)

Here is my submission to the 2014 Batman/Winter Solstice themed show at Hub comics in Somerville MA, on Display through January 2015. Been loving the Gotham show, wanted to give Gordon his due for wrangling the menagerie in his city. If I had more time, I would have wanted to add a crocodile, a bunny, a gorilla...

New Film WiP!: Meet the Chef

As an exercise this summer to explain animated-film-making to my students, I am animating a film. Not quite at the crazy pace we ask of them . Not even close, actually. But here is a render of the main character, a chef at a greasy-spoon diner located on an asteroid way off the beaten track, space-highway-wise.
