this is the one art form I genuinely just cannot get my brain to accept as real. I’ve watched sped-up videos of it being done, read about it, seen in-progress marble statues and I still just can’t get it to sink in or stick. also I’d like to use this as an opportunity to remind myself and everybody that, with the surge of bot comments plaguing ao3 and how discouraging it can be for writers, it’s so important and appreciated to comment nice things on the fics you enjoy if you can. let the authors know you enjoy their works. seeing a genuine comment from a real person could really make their day.

Honestly, I recommend joining Reddit’s r/AO3 subreddit. People post a ton of these bot spam comments on there to ask if they’re real. This has given me early warning of every new hatebot variant.

It’s like a vaccine against these comments. Once you see ten slightly-different versions of the same creepy or hateful bot comment, posted by ten different people on the same day … it starts making you laugh instead of upsetting you. It loses all its power. You realize it’s not targeted or personal in any way — just AI-generated, meaningless spam.

It just occurred to me today that when Percy got onto to Apollo for not telling her he'd be gone (Chapter 21), she was mimicking Sally getting onto Poseidon during his Christmas visit (Chapter 14). 😂 They both even used weird voices to copy their men! 🤣 What makes it even funnier is that two of the most dangerous gods were perfectly alright with their women nagging them like mortal men. 🤣 Shit, all Apollo was just overjoyed Percy wanted to finally spend time with him. 🤣 Father-in-Law and Son-in-Law are WHIPPED. 🤣🤣🤣
