specific eras i have tags for:

"dance of the dragons"; "first blackfyre rebellion"; "old valyria"; "the doom of valyria"; "the tragedy at summerhall"; "the tourney at harrenhal"'; “robert’s rebellion”; “aegon’s conquest”; “dunk and egg" (spanning all of dunk and egg's lifetime, not just the published stories, though i do also have "the tourney at ashford")

general conventions:

all artists where i've posted multiple pieces by them are tagged (some "official" artists tagged repeatedly are gary gianni, magali villeneuve, sam hogg, denis maznev)

anything involving twow sample chapters is tagged "twow"

targaryen royalty with an epithet (e.g. "maegor the cruel," "good queen alysanne," "baelor breakspear" etc.) are tagged as that to avoid confusion with repeating names (rhaena daughter of aenys is tagged as both "rhaena the black bride" and "rhaena the lesbian"), dany’s mom is “queen rhaella targaryen”

all direwolves are tagged with their name and "the direwolf" (e.g. "summer the direwolf") except shaggydog, as he's pretty obvious

dany's dragons are tagged with just their names if they're relevant to the point of the post, if it's just the three of them as a collective in art or st it's just "dany's dragon children"

i tag each of the conquerors but also have "the conqueror trio" for all three of them or "conqueror sisters" for just rhaenys and visenya

each rhaenys targaryen or other repeat name is tagged with an epithet to avoid confusion ("rhaenys the conqueor" vs "rhaenys the queen who never was" for rhaenys, "daenerys of dorne" for daeron the good's sister, etc. -> jeyne westerling of the og series is just "jeyne westerling," but maegor's bride is "jeyne i westerling")

wildlings are tagged by their names if they have at least two (e.g. "tormund giantsbane" or "varamyr sixskins"), as "[X] the wildling" if not

catelyn and lysa are tagged as "catelyn tully stark" and "lysa tully arryn" so i can tag them in both tully stuff and stuff for their married houses

all dothraki are tagged as "[X] of the dothraki" except for drogo, who's tagged as "khal drogo"

people with both a given name and a nickname (e.g. "bloodraven" and "brynden rivers") are tagged as both

young griff is tagged as “young griff,” “aegon blackfyre,” “aegon vi targaryen,” (as is infant aegon), “faegon blackfyre,” and “faegon targaryen”

jaqen is tagged as both “jaqen h’ghar” and “the faceless man formerly known as jaqen” (tag from nobodysuspectsthebutterfly originally, i think?)

the maidenvault sisters are tagged individually as well as "maidenvault sisters"

groups of women like “the black brides,” "the six wives of maegor the cruel," “daughters of garth greenhand,” or “the mistresses of aegon the unworthy” have a collective tag, but i might feel like tagging some in particular

targaryens who went into service like vaegon or maegelle are tagged as all variations of their name, e.g. "maegelle targaryen," "septa maegelle," and "septa maegelle targaryen"

the sand snakes are all tagged individually unless it's a collective post about all of them as an entity, in which case it's "sand snakes"

great bastards characters are tagged as their names, "great bastards," but also "twoiaf" since that's where we have most of our info on them, but also "fire and/& blood" since volume two will eventually cover them

personal favorite asoiaf meta/analysis writers are @marwyn, @branwinged, @dragonseeds, and @vivacissimx!

This art is dedicated to the Great Ruler of the Targaryen dynasty, Jaehaerys I the Peacemaker, surrounded by his family. and the most important figures in the state. My personal best for the number of characters in one piece of art, and it was quite challenging. However, I'm happy with the result.

PRINCESS AEREA TARGARYEN

Aerea and Balerion were missing for more than a year, but finally returned to King's Landing on the thirteenth day of the fourth moon of 56 AC, with a severely-ill Aerea clinging to the dragon's back. She was almost unrecognizable; she was stick thin, and whatever clothes she still wore were nothing more than tatters. After speaking "I never", Aerea collapsed. She was carried to Grand Maester Benifer.

Septon Barth reported that "swellings" moved underneath the princess's skin, possibly searching for a way to escape and causing a great pain. He wrote "I pray that I shall soon forget some of the things she whispered", and that she often begged for death. It seemed to Barth as if Aerea was cooking from within. Her flesh grew darker until it resembled pork cracklings; smoke came from her mouth, nose, and her nether regions. Aerea's eyes cooked within her skull until they burst. When the princess was lowered into the tub of ice, "slimy, unspeakable things" making horrible sounds emerged from under her skin—one as long as his arm—but the "creatures of heat and fire" died from the cold of the ice.

By the hour of the bat, after sunset, Septon Barth announced that Aerea had died. She was cremated the next day at sunrise.

Vaegon "the Dragonless" Targaryen

Midjourney render of Vaegon Targaryen. Multiple edits in Photoshop. Completely new irises and used Adobe Neural Filter. Tried to be as book accurate as possible. I did not use any actors as a base for it, but I think he looks a lot like Ewan Mitchell and smidge like Matt Smith.

Appearance:

Vaegon had the silver-gold hair and purple eyes of the Targaryens. However, he could not be described as "comely": he had a long face and round shoulders, even at a young age. He always had a pinched sour cast to his mouth.

M Y R is one of the Free Cities of western Essos. It is on the east shore of the Sea of Myrth. Temples and shrines for many gods can be found along the waterfronts and streets. R'hllor is worshiped at a red temple in Myr, for instance. Some maesters believe that Myrmen are descended from the Rhoynar, as many of the Myrmen share their olive skin and dark hair, but this theory is disputed. Myr is considered to be among the most advanced of the Free Cities, and is famed for its arts and learning. Their main exports are finished goods, such as carpets and lace. “The Seasons of My Love” is a Myrish song.

N O R V O S, called Great Norvos by its people, is one of the nine Free Cities. It lies in the interior of Essos, between Pentos and Qohor. Norvos’s three bells govern every aspect of the lives of those in the city. The bells tell the Norvoshi when to rise, sleep, work, rest, when to take arms, when to pray, and when they are permitted to have carnal relations. Each bell has its own distinctive ‘voice’ and name. While it has a council of magisters, its members are chosen by the bearded priests, who speak for their god and wield the true power in the Free City. Once a year, there is a festival in Norvos that features bears dancing down the Sinner’s Steps.
