âDear Reader:
The strikethroughs in the Shatter Me books are intentional. The writing in this series is occasionally as erratic as its main character, and serves as a visual representation of the chaos in Julietteâs mind. The repetition, the hyperbolic language, the obsession with numbersâthese are not errors on the page. As our heroine grows and evolves, so too does the prose, and as she finds her voice, the strikethroughs disappear, the language softens, the repetition dissolves, and the numerals ease into written words. This is, ultimately, a story of change. Thank you so much for reading.â

It frustrates me to NO END that Tahereh had to add in this note because people were so critical of her writing style. But, if your copy didnât have it and you were critical, maybe check this out.
if you donât follow @taherehmafi on insta, you are SERIOUSLY missing out!!!!
Warnerâs tattoo: I. G. N. I. T. E.
Iâve seen lots of questions about what Aaronâs âigniteâ tattoo means and he explains it to Juliette in Unravel Me so hereâs the answer everyone!
I G(reive) N(othing) I T(ake) E(everything)
My personal interpretation is that after growing up in a world where he was given nothing, he had to teach himself that he is deserving of what life has to offer and not waste his time grieving his past. The third book is called Ignite Me because itâs Julietteâs turn to let go of her past and take everything she deserves.
Or it means that Aaron is a destructive monster who doesnât feel bad about killing thousands of people just to achieve success ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ

@warnettework event 1: favorite character ⶠAaron Warner
The life I know now is the only one that matters. The suffocation, the luxury, the sleepless nights, and the dead bodies. Iâve always been taught to focus on power and pain, gaining and inflicting. I GRIEVE NOTHING. I TAKE EVERYTHING. Itâs the only way I know how to live in this battered body. I empty my mind of the things that plague me and burden my soul, and I take all that I can from what little pleasantness comes my way.

Run run run until you canât hear their feet behind you. Run until they drop their fists and their shouts dissolve in the air. Run with your eyes open and your mouth shut and dam the river rushing up behind your eyes. Run, Juliette.
Run until you drop dead.
Make sure your heart stops before they ever reach you. Before they ever touch you.
Run, I said.
!!!!!!!!
âIgnite, My Love. Ignite.â
I have no idea what youâre talking about. Youâre perfectly kind to me. This is an exception to a very hard rule. This is very, very unusual.
