Today I found the diamond necklace I’d lost years ago,
Found it drowning in the dusty cushions of a forgotten chair.
I clutch it to my chest, afraid it had been lost forever.
I see my face reflected in the old familiar.
My life stands still,
Hard, resilient, but bleak, dullened.
Unforgiving.
I whisper to us,
Let’s make it radiant again.
