However, a text from the temple of Edfu tells how 'the gods play the sistrum for her (Hathor), the goddesses dance for her to dispel her bad temper’.”

The “Golden Goddess”, “Mistress of the Stars” who was associated with women and women’s health, love, inspiration, kindness, gratitude, light, rebirth, rejuvenation, dancing, sexuality, and drunken revelry. Quite the interesting goddess with a great many symbols associated with her, thus the reason she is my most detailed god/dess to date! . i have cancer, and i need help.

hi! my name is Kichona. i’m 25, and a mother to an adorable 2 year old. early february 2019, i was told the cancer i was born with (non hodgkin’s lymphoma) is spreading. not rapidly, but not at a snails pace, either. i have a tumor that tends to swell the most when i don’t need it to, it’s very painful and prevents me from working in the industry i work in (warehousing). my lymph nodes fill with fluid and it makes it hard to breath, eat and enjoy time with my son. i’ve been taking medication steadily that helps with the lymph pain & swelling, and the swelling of my arm. i have 2 to 3 chemotherapy treatments left and 2 radiation therapy treatments to go. getting childcare while i’m sick and bedridden hasn’t been easy (not easy as in i have none.) they’ve discovered 2 lumps in my breast that they’re hoping are just dense breast tissue, and i could possibly be facing ovarian cancer due to my family history (my mother had both breast and ovarian cancer)

in may of 2019 my physically & mentally abusive (soon to be ex) husband began an affair with a young lady that won’t quit harassing me. he has since moved in with her. that means i have no means of transportation anymore, being that my car was flooded during hurricane irma.

i was nearly to goal with my gofundme. i received an email from gofundme stating i could begin using a 0% platform fee. meaning they’d reduce the cost of my fundraiser being up. i then increased the fundraiser to try to gain back the donations i’ve recurved over the years that gofundme has taken.

the last post i made for this, is getting “stale” i guess, and i can’t seem to garner anymore attention for it so i’m making this one in hopes that it will. i need donations for my medication, 2 treatments of radiation, 2-3 treatments of chemotherapy, childcare, maybe a (used?) vehicle if possible, rent (we’ve been close to eviction since my stb ex husband moved out. he was the primary breadwinner.) food and many other things.

i am in the process of trying to get help with all of these things but in the meantime, please signal boost this. i’d really REALLY appreciate this.

Hello my fellow Kemetics, Pagans, and all other followers of Egypt

I am in need of some assistance on a project I’m preparing. I’m trying to compare the religious practices surrounding certain ancient Egyptian deities to their modern counterparts. While I’ve gathered quite a few sources on older practices, I need more information on modern ones. This is where I need the help of all you lovely people. 

If you’re interested in helping, I need general information regarding:

1) *Optional* Age, gender, country? This is mostly for survey purposes.

2) How long have you been Kemetic/ Pagan?

3) Which gods and goddesses do you primarily follow?

4) Do you use a shrine/temple? If so, how intricate is it usually? 

5) What, if anything, do you offer each deity?

6) General thoughts on the faith, other followers, and other religions?

7) Would you prefer a unified religion or personal independence?

I mean tbh I've never really seen people worship it in earnest?? it's more of a "why is this not allowed? it should be allowed! kemetics are bad for saying I can't do this!"

it's certainly annoying, but the whole convo pretty much always reads to me as simple curiosity at best and rude/ignorant edginess at worst. People have yet to actually do the thing, and I don't think it really merits a moral panic or outrage every time someone decides to, essentially, troll kemetics with the same stupid argument.

i’m not kemetic personally but hellenic, but honestly i say people can make their own spiritual choices even if it’s not the common one in your religion, doesn’t merit a moral panic or outrage period.

the main thing imo is that these discussions are usually really condescending and rude toward kemetics, essentially saying that we don't know what we're talking about wrt our own religion. also, worshipping a/pep is, in a kemetic context, giving power to the force that wants to end the entire universe and cause pointless suffering of all kinds in the meantime. for those reasons, I feel non-kemetics ought to sympathize with why this is such a touchy subject for us.

that said, kemetics can just as easily block and move on when people are talking of worshipping a/pep, which is what I recommend tbh. people who don't practice kemeticism don't have to observe kemetic religious taboos - and while someone who worships the sn/ake is literally practicing the antithesis of kemeticism and therefore probably can't be termed a kemetic at all, it's still their prerogative. just uh, don't expect kemetics to be ok with it.
