Healthy Options at Fast Food Restaurants
Trying to avoid fast food restaurants all together is ideal, but sometimes we have no option! Here are some healthier options when you must grab and go. Note that most of them are still high in sodium and shouldn't be consumed daily as a "healthy meal" they are just healthier than other options on the menu: • McDonald's: Grilled ranch snack wrap with apple slices or yogurt parfait instead of fries • Chick fa la: Whole wheat chicken salad sandwich with fruit cup or yogurt parfait • Sonic: Chicken sandwich with no mayo added with apple slices • Wendys: Asian cashew chicken salad (little or no dressing) • Burger King: Veggie Burger and garden salad • Taco Bell: Soft taco with shredded chicken, lettuce, and tomato and bean burrito • Starbucks: Spinach and feta breakfast wrap • KFC: Grilled chicken breast and corn on the cob Pretty much order grilled or baked instead of fried if possible, avoid fries and go for fruit instead, and stay away from sauces as well. Always drink water as your beverage! These are options that I get at my local fast food stores and I never feel that gross disgusting feeling after eating them. Hope this helps someone! Much love, MaggieSK
Start Living a Fitness Inspired Lifestyle
In today's society people have developed extremely unproductive habits that include being lazy, eating junk food, and not dedicating time to their own personal health. (GUILTY!) However, the best thing about this world is that people can do whatever they put their minds to and it is never to late to start! Here are some tips that help me lead a healthy and fitness inspired lifestyle.... 1. Instead of "exercising" plan fun activities: What I mean by this is people dread the thought of exercising, so instead we can trick our minds into doing it and have fun while we are! So instead of spending an hour on the treadmill, invite a friend to go run the beach with you! Instead of doing squats alone, invite a sibling to a squat-off (who can do the most squats in a minute). When doing abs, blast music and do a fun workout video! Instead of going to a buffet and the movies for date night, cook dinner together then go mini golfing. Just simply get out of the house and enjoy different adventures: go on a nature hike, walk the mall, sign up for classes at your local fitness club, go swimming, play beach volleyball, walk around your neighborhood and find out what house decor you like! 2. Learn how to NOT be lazy We all get into lazy moods where we want to lay in bed all day and not move. Next time that's you, get on your phone (that your already playing on most likely) and look up what motivates you, I personally love looking at health and fitness quotes. Once you get some motivation, get out of bed! You don't have to go run a marathon, but do something productive. Rather it be organize the kitchen cabinets, take a walk around the block, do a new hairstyle to your hair, or do a fun craft, you are still getting something done that you wouldn't of if you stayed in bed. At the end of the day, you will feel so much better! 3. Fitness comes from the inside This can mean a couple things, first it means that to live a fitness inspired lifestyle you must have an inner-desire to, nobody can make you. Second, it means that to be active and healthy, you must balance out what you put in your body. You don't have to completely eliminate the bad foods that you love, just eat them in moderation. Most importantly, drink water! Water will hydrate your body and help you get energy and get moving! To start eating healthy, go to your local grocery store and pick out your favorite fruits, veggies, and meats and the internet has all sorts of yummy and healthy recipes to chose from. Have fun creating delicious meals and snacks and take pictures to share on social medias. 4. Go shopping! There is nothing more motivating than brand new nikes, matching workout clothes, and adorable water bottles! Treat yourself to a shopping spree to gather some new fitness related items. This will help you feel confident and want to workout and be healthy. If you don't have much money, don't worry, I find brand name workout clothes and items for cheap prices all the time! I shop at Ross, Marshalls, Burlington Coat Factory, and even Walmart now has super cute workout pants, sports bras, and water bottles. There is nothing more satisfying than putting on cute workout gear, grabbing a cool water bottle, and hitting the gym or exploring the outdoors! So these are ways to start developing a healthy and fitness inspired lifestyle! I hope this helped someone get motivated and get moving! Being healthy and partaking in fitness is more than just looking good, it is amazing for our bodies and allows us to feel energized and great. So much love, MaggieSK
Take Control of your Life
Do you ever have 30 hours worth of stuff to complete and only 10 hours to do it? Do you ever have so much stuff piled up that you don't even know know where to start so you just sit there miserable? Do you ever get so overwhelmed that you don't complete something that was once important to you? I think we have all been there, and it is not a happy place. I am going to share the things I do when my life gets out of control. Yesterday, I knew that I had so much stuff to do, but I lacked motivation to do anything because of the stress put upon me. The entire house was destroyed, I had 2 quizzes and an essay due, Scarlett wanted to be constantly entertained, I needed to cook dinner, wash clothes, and go through the mail to pay bills. Pretty much, I was an absolute mess. I wanted to jump in bed, quit school, and never get up again. Instead, I used this opportunity to get inspired and teach myself that I can get through anything! 1. Sit down and write a list of everything that you need to accomplish. 2. Do the things that are stressing you out the most first and cross them off your list as you go. 3. Get some energy! Treat yourself to coffee, put on some music, & get moving! 4. Do not wait any longer, if you have been putting something off, just do it! You will feel so relieved afterwards. 5. Do not stress if you can't finish everything in 1 day, give yourself a week to get your life back in shape and make progress each day. 6. Remember that it is better to start now, then later. 7. When your house is clean, your homework is complete, your bills are paid, errands are ran, and baby is happily asleep give yourself a reward. You deserve it! Take a relaxing bath, watch a movie, simply lay in bed on your phone, anything that makes you happy! 8. Prevent it from happening again by doing a little bit each day. Always write down when things are due and what's going on. Instead of having to tackle everything at once, just do a few things each day. Spend an hour on school work each day and 30mins picking up the house. As soon as the laundry basket gets full, do laundry. Little things will make a big difference! I really hope this helps someone is is overwhelmed and stressed out and needs to control their life and not let it control them anymore! So much love ♡ MaggieSK

Staying FIT Without Having Time for the Gym
As a busy mommy, I never have time to go to the gym, but I still manage to stay slim and fit! Here is how I do it:
Wake up early:
Every single morning I wake up an hour before my daughter wakes up! This hour is when I get the most accomplished. The first thing I do is stretch and do 35 sit-ups! It only takes 15mins and it gets my limbs stretched and my tummy tight and I am ready to embrace the day! A healthy breakfast is key to staying slim. I love eating avocado on whole wheat toast, a yogurt and fruit bowl, spinach and egg omelets, whole wheat pancakes with blueberries, and there are so many more healthy breakfast items to choose from. After I have my mini workout and consume breakfast, I take a warm shower and get ready for an amazing day.
Incorporate small exercise into daily task:
If I am cooking dinner, I will jog in place while the oven is preheating. While I brush my teeth, I will do squats in front of the mirror. While I clean the house, I will blast music and dance. While Scarlett plays on the ground with her toys, I will join her and do some push-ups. Just simply being a mom is a workout itself because I am always chasing my little Scarlett all around the house and toting her all around in my arms. At the end of the day, I feel toned, tight, and exhausted, just as if I spent an hour at the gym!
Get out of the house:
Every single afternoon Scarlett and myself get out of the house and do something fun! We go to the beach, play at the park, go for a dip in the kiddy pool, walk around the mall, explore down town shops, and all sorts of fun and outdoor activities! This is when I get my cardio in for the day. Not to mention, Scarlett and I always have a blast and its nice to enjoy our hot summer days on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Eat Clean & Stay Lean:
Eating healthy not only keeps my body looking good, but it makes me feel amazing and energized! I may not have time for the gym, but I do make time to meal prep and create healthy meals and snacks for my family. I’m planning on sharing yummy and healthy food ideas soon!
So much love ♡

Full-Time College Student & Young Mommy
College is extremely tough and becoming a mom and caring for a little cub is even tougher, so how in the world can you manage them both and stay sane? Here are tips on what I do to stay joyful and stress free : ♡ 1. Always have things prepared: Being prepared means laying your clothes out the night before, going school shopping months in advanced, have a basket ready with all cleaning essentials before attempting to swiftly clean up, etc... If I am not prepared for the day, I find myself getting lost and not getting priorities accomplished. Sound familiar? Well one huge lifesaver that I do every single night before bed is I plan out our activities for the next day and will make "play places" for my Scarlett (9 months old). For example, I work on homework for at least 2 hours each day, to keep Scarlett occupied I will make a neat tent in her room with a bunch of toys, her own little kitchen set in our kitchen, and an obstacle course filled with fun shapes and boxes in the living room. Having all of these activities prepared will make for a fun time for my little one and time for me to sit beside her play area and work on my laptop. When she gets bored with one room, we just switch to the next and an already-built play area awaits! ♡ 2. Organization & Consistency is Key Being prepared and organized go hand-in-hand together. To be prepared, you have to be organized. My favorite way to stay organized is too find a cute planner and notebook, something that will make you happy to open up each day. I found both of mine at target and personalized them with cute quotes, stickers, and glitter. Every single morning, I wake up and see what is on the agenda for the day. My typically day usually consist of: Breakfast with Scarlett, Go to school/Do school work while Scarlett goes to sitter or plays beside me, Lunch, Outdoor Activity with Scarlett, Do homework while Scarlett plays, Cook dinner, Bathtime, Storytime, Cuddles and bed! In order to get everything accomplished, I stay consistent with that same schedule and I have it all written down. As soon as I open my planner when it is school time, I know which assignments I need to do. ( I am planning on doing a planner & notebook organization post ) Overall, writing everything down is crucial to staying on top of your mommy/student game!! ♡ 3. Ask for help! No matter how prepared and organized I am, there are days where I get overwhelmed with the amount of stuff that needs to be done. Some days I will have assignments due, but Scarlett is being fussy to the point where she needs me to walk her around for hours. Instead of getting furious, stressed, and upset I will simply call up my mother, sister, aunts, or Gram and they are more than welcome to spend special time with our sweet girl either at their house or my apartment. If you don't have any friends or family near you, I would suggest interviewing a few individuals that are available for those just-in-case moments. I know that as a mother it is extremely nerve racking to let someone else watch your pride and joy, (believe me, I know, I didn't let anybody watch Scarlett for the first 6 month of her life) but when you find someone you trust, it is a breath of fresh air to be able to get stuff done! I would suggest having your sitter watch your child at your place the first month so that you are able to see how the two take to each other and it will build your trust in the sitter. So these are the things that I do on a daily basis that help me exceed in school while caring for a baby. Hope any of these tips can help at least one person! So much love ♡ - MaggieSK
