“You made a mistake? You helped him and other vampires murder innocent people! What’s the matter with you? You just locked us all up like we were rats or something. What did you get out of helping Constantine? Hm?”
“Yes Elijah, I made a mistake. It happens, even to us old ones. There is nothing the matter with me except I suppose maybe too much time around vampires. What I got out of it? I guess I got my curiosity satisfied. I wanted to know why they seemed to enjoy killing so much and what they got out of it. I wanted to see how they hunted in that situation and how many of them would give into their instincts and I wanted to see if I could hold you all there. I found out I could, barring an older and stronger witch taking down the spell, but even then I hear she needed help to make sure she didn’t lose her concentration.” Altair realized he had run on and paused before taking a breath and continuing. “But I see now that my curiosity was not worth all of that trouble and I apologize. It’s why I’m here talking to you, to make amends.”
