Setting her hand on his chest she pushed him back. “Do not,” Gabby told him with a small glare. “That house should have been sold months ago. Saying you’re sorry is not going to fix it.”
Elijah growled a little when she stopped him. “I know, but I’m working on it. I’m getting you involved in working on it aren’t I.”

“Marriage? We’ve spoken about it, but it’s not on the cards right now.” He shook his head a bit. “What about you and Jamie?”

Giving a small glare at him she couldn’t help rolling her eyes as she moved to walk away. “Do I look like the type to scream and yell at people who aren’t ignorant enough to keep their homes after moving in with their girlfriend?” She asked before moving to their bedroom.
“Gabs!” With a groan, Elijah followed her and grabbed her arm, bringing her close to him. “I said I was sorry, I am!”

“I think I have to face it - I might be lost.” Megs spoke out loud, but directed it mostly towards herself. Looking up from her phone, she spotted someone close enough to disturb without moving very far. Speaking up to get their attention, she allowed a beaming smile to take over her expression. “Please tell me you’re not a newbie, too. I’m just trying to find a place to - actually, I have no plans. So I was gonna… see a movie or somethin’. Is there something more fun to do around here? Or can you point me in the right direction?”
“How may I help you?” Elijah asked with a small smile, as a detective in town, he was always on some type of duty. “Something fun to do? Well that depends on what you like to do.”

“It seems as if you have a plan in case it does.” She commented not able to help herself. Letting out a small sigh as she listened to him still not being able to help to be disappointed in the fact he still had the home, to begin with. “Fine. I will accompany you tomorrow. I want the house sold.”
Elijah sighed, not sure what else he could tell her to convince her that he was all in, warts and all. “It’ll get sold.” He nodded his head. “Just don’t scream and shout at her.”

“No. It sounds like you have a backup plan for whenever this fails.” Narrowing her eyes on him as he spoke. Letting out a heavy sigh as she listened to him pulling back some but, still letting him take her hand Gabby couldn’t help shaking her head. “I will believe it when I see it.”
“Babe, no... this isn’t gonna fail.” Elijah gave her hand a gentle squeeze. “Then come with me to see her and find out for yourself.”

“Then maybe you should lower the price so that someone actually purchases it. It seems as if you do not care about selling the house.” She said finally dropping her hand and taking a stepping away from him.
Elijah sighed. “Of course I care about getting it sold, I redecorated the damn thing so it’s light and airy to get it to shift faster... I know how it looks, that I’m holding onto the place in case I change my mind about this, but I’ve been here for over a year now, surely that speaks volumes to you?” He tried to take hold of her hand. “It will move. I will give my real estate agent a call tomorrow and ask her to move it faster.”

Putting her hand on his chest to push him away Gabby shook her head at him. “Do not touch me until you sell that house. If it is not for him coming here then I would make you stay there until it is sold.”
He staggered back a bit from her push and frowned at her now. “I already told you, it’s been for sale since I moved in here, it isn’t as if I’m not trying to get to sold Gabby. I haven’t even been back since I moved out.”

“I will kill him if he touches you.” She warned in complete seriousness. “You need to also speak with Vanessa. I’m not having her upset over your decision to keep him.”
“That’s fair.” Eli got up and kissed on the lips. “I’m gonna speak to her a little later on.”

Letting out a huff as she listened to him Gabby went silent for a minute before speaking. “Fine. He may stay. I still don’t approve though.”
“You don’t have to approve, Gabs, he just needs a safe space for a couple of days, I’ll keep an eye on him and he can come to work with me so he doesn’t get under your feet.”

“You should have done that, to begin with.” She said before finally uncrossing her arms.
“I was gonna, but he freaked the fuck out and I didn’t know what to say or do to make him calm down.”

“He is my responsibility and tried to go after a human after feeding from her. I watch and take care of my own. Do not ‘come on Gabs’ at me.”
Elijah let out a groan of frustration. “Fine!... Fine, I will talk to Vanessa about taking him in.” He shook his head a little.

“I do not trust this child and think this is an awful idea. Do as you wish but, I’m not going to support you. It is not your position or job to watch him. Maybe you should both stay at your former residence since it is still yours.”
“Oh come on Gabs... I always support you, even when you snapped that poor kids neck the other day and dumped him on our sofa still hungry while I was upstairs.”

“You will end up dead. Wolves are much more unstable and clearly not under enough supervision. Elijah this is an awful idea overall.” She said only to raise her eyebrows at him. “You still have your old home? It’s been over a year.”
“How about just one evening? See how it goes?” He offered a suggestion. “It’s not sold yet, it’s been on the market since I moved in here.”

Shaking her head knowing this was not going to end lightly she stood her position and continued to glare at him. “He is a wolf. He is not for you to take care of.” Gabby said taking a minimal glace at the photo before linking eyes with his own. “He is a wolf that can not control himself. When you end up dead that is on you.”
“I know, mine is the witches, but this kid really just needs a safe space for a little while. If he can’t stay here, then he can stay in my old place.” Elijah shrugged a little. “I won’t end up dead.”
