Ok so since I haven’t posted the review and I don’t have the time to finish it rn, made a tier list of all the Godzilla movies (and series) I’ve seen.
Yeah I know it’s not a lot, but the older Toho movies are very hard to access here, rn my only option is piracy. I did find the first two Heisei movies tho, and I might find the rest of the era, but I kinda don’t have time to dig through the internet rn.
The very first category represents my taste in movies. I would die for these movies genuinely. They give an interesting, good feeling to my soul I genuinely don’t get anywhere else. And yes, I hold KOTM on the same level as -1, I know, I know, I have a bad taste, leave me alone.
The next is movies I really, REALLY enjoy, but not as much as -1 or KOTM.
The next tier are movies I like.
Then movies I enjoyed but I didn’t feel particularly strong about. I tbh I barely remember the trilogy and I probs need some rewatches to be sure about my ranking. Also yes, that one poster wants to represent the entire trilogy, since I binged all three movies at once and they kinda blended together in my head since then.
Next tier is self-explanatory. I felt nothing in particular watching these movies. Or at least I don’t remember anything particular about them. They probably also need a rewatch.
And here comes the outlier, the black sheep. A piece of Godzilla media I did not like. Some of you may have picked up on the fact that this specific series has two copies, and some of you may have already read my notes. I which case…
Bro I could rant so much… so, so much… but I won’t…..
I have a certain limit with “negative” people (as I refer to them in this specific case), where I abruptly go from making up excuses for them in my head to despising them. Those girls HAVE PASSED that limit.
Man I genuinely spent the entire time I was showering thinking about what I don’t like about them and how much. That’s like, really long. Too long to write out. So if anyone wants to hear my opinions, they’ll have to let me know.
The numbers signify how many times I watched said movie.
If the movie has a + next to its number, it means I lost count around that number. Mind you, those numbers that have it rn were all lost around 2022, so it’s probably way past that.
And if we’re on this topic, some of you may wonder why certain movies have so much more views than others. Very easy answer: There is a TV channel in my native language that tends to play these movies every few months or so, and whenever I realise they will be played I always watch them.
Well anyways, I was thinking about how they haven’t played them in a while when showering.
When we were eating dinner dad didn’t turn of the TV and it was left on that same channel.
Guess what teaser they play whilst we were eating.
Bro the way I jumped up from my seat and waved my hands screaming “Godzilla! Godzilla!” at the sight of that very first, single, very specific frame of the teaser, which is just a silent, misty shot of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Mom got mad at me for that and called it sick. Which is fair, I am genuinely addicted. :> I genuinely recognise a specific mist around the Golden Gate Bridge, that cannot be healthy.
Edit: Man it’s so visible I wrote this at 1AM. All the errors and repetitive words. I’ll fix the first problem, but not the second.
