Financial Security vs Life Goals

When I lived welfare check to welfare check, I was always worried about how to pay the rent, how to buy food and how to keep my car running. But I had time for all my life-fulfilling creative projects.

Now that I have a secure job, I don't worry about money, but I have a severe lack to time for these projects, and poor opportunities for fulfillment.

I really hope I can find some sort of middle ground.

During COVID lockdown I started writing a novel. I desperately want to finish it, but I'll never be able to do it while working this job.

It's time for a change.

Back to the mundane

Leftovers at lunchtime! Vegan bolognaise. I don't have an exact recipe (I rarely do, lol), but I can give you a vague outline. I fried an onion, some garlic, a few herbs and spices and then threw in some vegan mince and canned, diced tomatoes. And some chopped kale I had to use up before it went slimey. Served up with large spirals (That's important, I feel. It might be irrational, but large spirals taste better) and a sprinkling of nutritional yeast. Honestly, I probably won't buy the vegan mince again. It's... okay. But lentils or beans are better!

It was a lovely evening for a walk with my Pixie. I have so much more time and energy for things like this since I've quit smoking. It's affected almost every aspect of my life to an extent I never realised. I'm so grateful that all these positive changes are happening so naturally. Like it was just time.

Hi tumblr. It's been YEARS since I saw you last. What a surreal feeling it was to look back on posts from almost a decade ago. I'm almost an entirely different person now. So much so, I felt I had to delete everything and start again.
