i like having characters with black hair but i wish they took an effort to animate it differently
like i get so fucking excited seeing a character that looks like us but it's really obvious that they just gave up after the initial appearance. and it's like yay :D you found a way to incorporate afros into your style why the fuck is it blowing in the wind??? why does it's entire shape change the second a slight breeze comes by??? why is EVERYONES hair animated the EXCACT same way like come onnnn give them different texturesss GIVE THEM DENSITY YOURE AN ANIMATORRR GIVE THEM INDIVIDUALITY

i just want them to like. think things through. and incorporate their characters personalities into their designs. and i hate how they give up cause magical girl hair blowing physics like you keep talking about how much you love these characters and the thought and concept art you put into them and they still feel so fucking white and come onnnnafghhshhchensj >:(((((
I bring a real 'actually people who are pregnant do deserve some special consideration because they are effectively at least temporarily disabled if not permanently after some complications' vibe to the party that a lot of people don't seem to like
really i think the most insidious part of white supremacy is the way it will convince white people everything is actually About Them. being called out isn’t about you. poc expressing frustration at your behaviour isn’t about you. it’s about how you are affecting others. step one is literally just de-centre yourself from the conversation. anyone who’s not white has already had to learn this lesson the hard way and it gets tiring waiting for the rest of you to catch up
you have to consciously unlearn racism and continue to watch for it because it will come out without realizing. because so much of society is structured around it. shrugging and going "i dont care" or "i dont know how else to say it" means you are okay with being racist and hurting other people with how much you dont give a shit about them.
In season 9 when Pearl turned into an alien for her base, she felt what it was like to not be a girl. She could change what she looked like, and sounded like. It was disconcerting for her because she didn’t feel like a girl. It didn’t feel bad or wrong, just different, so for the remainder of the season she decided to explore her pronouns. After she went back to her normal hybrid form, she went back to using she/her as it felt right, but she’s decided she’s not a "girl" necessarily, and hasn’t put a label on her gender identity. The hermits typically use she/her, but will randomly sprinkle in a random pronoun if it feels right.
you know those studies showing that cursing helps with pain tolerance or whatever. that’s how i feel about making my weird little noises to get through my basic daily activities. sometimes you just have to go hggblaaaah for a minute so you can find the strength within yourself to get up or wash the dishes or send an email. mmmnneh. urgh. the torments are unending but you can always make some little sounds about it.
not even close to joking when i say that everyone going "meeeee :3" in the notes needs to ask themselves why they're so much more willing to listen to jazz that isn't made by black artists
