Same sis, same
@magical-tater-tots has the most amazingly sweet portrayal of Alice Longbottom and even the stuff set after the Lestranges’ attack has a real heart to it. 100/10 will keep her as my Frank’s only Alice.
@magical-tater-tots
Awww you guys are so sweet! ILY!
Honestly, Same.
A giant, black, sarcophagus has been found in Alexandria and I could not be more excited about it.
If we do open it we could find
The tomb of Alexander the Great (Coolest possible answer. Probably the coolest thing we’ve found in my lifetime unless aliens decide to show up.)
Rando important Egyptian Pharaoh ( Also cool answer. Definitely an awesome find.)
An ancient and unspeakable evil (We haven’t had a good ol’ doomsday level curse in a good long while. Definitely overdue for this one)
It’s a win/win/win scenario.
IF THIS IS MY BOY ALEX THIS IS THE GREATEST DAY OF ME LIFE
Jenny: My money is on Ancient and unspeakable evil... Lets open it! *lunges*
Moses: *Drags Jenny away and nopes right the fuck out*

instead of jars to bury your spells in, my i suggest the idea of peat pots planters?
not only are they biodegradable, they are useful for many different things. you can grow herbs and starter plants or use them to bury a home protection without the fear of broken glass rising to the surface, or your jar staying in the ground for a 100 years. they also come in many different sizes as well. from large to very tiny
and you can even make your own from left over toilet paper rolls for a byproduct option that lessens garbage going into landfills.
there are plenty of cheaper, earth friendlier options available to us, as witches, at our disposal. it is up to us as a whole to start making better earth friendly choices, to modernize the practice. we are not from the middle ages and tradition has nothing to do with glass jars - we have the knowledge in modern days to realize how harmful the practice of burying jars actually is, we have resources to change that as well.

SEXUAL SUNDAY - Send my muse a gemstone to make them pick between two kinks
A Witch Morning:
Many witches have their own personal morning routine to get ready for the day. This is my personal morning routine and tips for those who are yet to have, but want one.
1. Get up early, before the sun rises. Begin by stretching your sleepy limbs, followed by 5 to 10 minutes of meditation.
☀(Tip: If you’re bad at getting up early, set an alarm earlier each week until you reach your goal.)
2. Make your bed and tidy up your room. This gives a sense of organization and clarity. Opening your windows invites the cool morning air into your home.
☀(Tip: Do chores the night before. Tomorrow you will be grateful! You can clean your room the night or day before, so you’ll only have to make your bed in the morning.)
3. Eat a good breakfast. My favorite is greek yogurt with berries, homemade granola, and honey drizzled over the top.
4. Prepare some tea! Use a tea associated to your intention. I drink peppermint tea in the morning to clear my brain fog and give me the much-needed motivation for the day.
5. (Optional) Eat your breakfast and drink tea outside as the sun rises. Take time to practice mindfulness with the tastes, textures, and aromas of your meal. Feel the gentle warmth of the rising sun on your skin, smell the fresh morning air, and listen to the birds sing.
6. (Optional. If yoga isn’t your thing, exercise… Or not. Your choice.) Set up your yoga mat either in your personal yoga space, or outside. Light incense and place crystals associated with your intention around your mat. Personalize your yoga routine with correspondences of each pose. I begin with the sun salutation to welcome the rising sun. Yoga increases your vibration and further clears your mind for the day ahead.
7. Clean yourself up. EVEN IF YOU’RE NOT GOING ANYWHERE, DO IT. Take a shower, wash your face, get into some clean clothes, and anything else that you do to get ready such as makeup and color correspondences. You can listen to your favorite music or sing while doing this.
☀(Tip: Set out some clothes and take a shower the night before if you have to.)
8. Now that you’re cleansed and have your daily intention set, you can continue with any morning spells and divination that you may do!

May the day bring you much joy and prosperity!

Recovery Period
[Continued from here]
magical-tater-tots:
It was so strange, so eerie to be in their own home, she could hardly recall the years they had been away but the evidence was written in the lines on both her and Frank’s faces, and in their slowly recovering bodies. But she would never say how strange she felt here. It had been so touching that Augusta had kept the old place, not just maintaining it but keeping it absolutely pristine; it was as though the knock on the door had never come, as though they had only left it for an afternoon instead of a decade and a half. All the same, but she was so different…
When Alice looked at herself in the mirror for the first time she had cried out in shock, and then when the family had left at last she had curled into Frank and quietly cried and couldn’t even say why. It wasn’t just her appearance of course, it was everything, but the thin wispy white tufts and sunken cheeks had driven all of it home. Crying had been all she could do.
Since then she had mostly tried not to look in any mirrors, or at her own hands, or to think too much about how different her body was, how it didn’t even feel like it belonged to her some days. Sometimes a wisp of her own hair would trail the edge of her vision and briefly startle her.
So Alice had focused on Frank; he was changed too, but his eyes were the same, and her love was the same. Frank had been the only thing she had really known for years, and she was still holding onto him now. She focused on encouraging him and helping him as much as she could, and on trying not to let him see that all was not well with her. She still hurt; sometimes for no apparent reason the pain and exhaustion would set in and she would want to give up. Hadn’t she fought for long enough? But then there was Frank, he still needed her, and Neville, dear beloved, her little lost one, so she would hold on. But she would be quieter than usual, and she would be still and sit quietly with Frank and find her solace in him.
Today wasn’t a bad day though! But she had looked in the mirror, horrors… then she thought she saw something and it made her pause. It was gone, whatever it had been, but she sat down at the vanity anyway and stared at herself. Alice couldn’t avoid it forever; this was what she looked like now. Gaunt and frail, not at all the plump young woman she had been - her dimples were a ghost of themselves. When Alice had been a teenager she had wanted this! She had longed to be slim and willowy, instead of round faced and plump. This was her punishment, how thin she was now, and how she loathed it. This was actually an improvement over how she had looked at first; she was slowly gaining weight, but it was a long road. Some of her potions spoiled her appetite so it took concentration to remember to eat.
Alice sat there brooding, staring at the alien body she found herself in. She caught no glimpse of whatever it was she had seen and might have sat staring all afternoon if her husband had not quietly interrupted. “I’m here, are you?” she replied softly, darting a glance at him and then quickly back… did she at least move like herself? A little bit…
Alice slid to one side of the bench, though there was plenty of room for the both of them already, and invited Frank to come sit by her. “I just… I thought I saw something but I guess maybe it was wishful thinking,” she said sadly, letting her eyes drop and reaching for his hand and sighing. “Or just the light…” She had thought she had seen a faint halo of gold, like her brown hair had always showed in the sunlight. But she had stared and stared and it was just as thin and white as could be since.
Home might be familiar, but the people in it weren’t. Frank knew he wasn’t the man he had been; there were still days when he could barely walk, and the effort it took to do formerly simple things like get dressed was exhausting. He hated being this helpless. The young man who’d been strong, quick and playful, able to pick up a child for a game or duel two opponents at once, just wasn’t there any more. On the upside, this was something he knew could be remedied in time, if not cured altogether. He was already stronger than he had been when he woke up in St Mungo’s.
Worse for him was the struggle he had with talking. His mind was much clearer now, but it was still difficult for him to speak properly even when he knew what he wanted to say. It was like the words got confused or lost on the way from his brain to his mouth. In truth, there were days he almost envied Alice for being that much more capable.
But he wasn’t blind to her struggles, either. She was in pain so often that he wanted to just let her rest while he did what needed doing. Even when she tried to hide it, he knew she was suffering. And the horrified wail she’d made on first seeing herself in the mirror… he couldn’t blame her. She’d changed so much from the beautiful woman glowing with warmth and life that nobody could be surprised that she didn’t want to look at herself any more.
He knew he wasn’t any better - a grey-haired, haggard wreck with little flesh covering his bones - but he didn’t care so much about appearance. It wasn’t pleasant, but looking good wasn’t high on his list of priorities compared to moving, speaking, and most importantly Alice.
Now, seeing her gaze forlornly into the mirror, like she was searching for a reflection she recognised, Frank’s heart broke. He used to be able to be so strong for her, so easily… he couldn’t help feeling like he was letting her down by not being able to ease her pain.
“’m here,” he replied with a faint smile. That little question-and-answer seemed to be the simplest way for both of them to recognise if the other had slipped into a flashback. Crossing the room carefully, he sank onto the seat beside her and let her take his hand, giving her fingers a light squeeze in return.
“Could be… seeing future,” he managed, and quirked a little smile, putting his free arm round her shoulders and leaning his head against hers. “Still lovely now.” And he meant it; he hadn’t fallen in love with Alice because she was beautiful, but because she was kind and sweet and gentle, and her mischievous streak was captivating. Her beauty - at least in his eyes - was simply an outward reflection of her personality, but even if the outside had altered, the inside hadn’t.
@magical-tater-tots
Alice giggled, just a little. It was a weak joke, but it was still a comfort to hear such little echoes of who they were before, and maybe it could be true, though she would try not to get her hopes up. Or she might spend all of her time sitting here waiting for it.
She squeezed his hand gently as he put an arm around her, hardly able to help being comforted by him, even when she wasn’t sure she believed what he was saying. “You’re still a charmer.” She murmured, turning her head slightly to kiss his cheek as they rested there together. Frank was her strength, and her everything, that would never change. Whether he knew it or not having to be there for him was part of what kept her going, on her worst days it could be the only thing.
Alice took a deep breath steadying herself there against Frank, he was more emotional support than a physical one these days but that was what she needed anyway. “Maybe I should ask your mum to lend me a hat or two in the meantime?” She finally said, with just a flicker of humor. Augusta had rather notoriously bad taste in hats, though no one would ever dare confront the venerable matron with that. But she hated seeing her hair so much now, maybe having something absurd covering it up would help. Or perhaps she could start wearing very gaudy headscarves?

clumsyherbologist:
“I don’t really want to tell you,” he admits sullenly, despite how he clings. It’s his fault and he doesn’t deserve the hug. He should know better than to let on the things he’d told, maybe if he hadn’t learned it from him it wouldn’t have been such a big issue. Maybe then all they’d be upset at him about would be that he didn’t tell them, and he could’ve just said that he thought it’d best to leave it to the one person who knew everything and could answer all questions. Right?
“It’s about the Defense Professor,” he admits anyway, because it’s already done and he can’t go back and just not say anything at all. “It wasn’t Moody, it was Crouch Jr. but– he wasn’t really mean. I– I spent a lot of time in his office.”
Will that do, though? He’s not sure. She’ll probably understand why, now. This is the part that upset dad, isn’t it? Or was it because no one noticed? Barty Crouch Jr. spent, well, the whole year pretending to be Moody. But, wouldn’t they already know this? Did the Headmaster tell them already? And doesn’t that mean something else is wrong? Is it because Neville didn’t notice?
She smiled gently at the petulant tone unperturbed by the reluctance, he was after all a teen now, and if Neville really didn’t want to talk about it she wouldn’t press the issue for now. She could find out what was happening later tonight from Frank after all. But she wanted to help him, so she said nothing and let him work out what he really wanted to do.
Alices gentle calm faltered slightly when Neville began telling her, telling her something anyway, though she wasn’t sure if this was exactly what he had said to Frank she could understand why he would have gotten upset if it was… There had of course been a letter, though it had been from the school board and everything in it had to be sifted for grains of the truth. Of course they had also received an additional letters… but Alice’s was not reassured…
“Is… is that all you said?” She asked, her voice might have been a little bit less steady than a moment before, but she was holding it in well, considering how unstrung her nerves felt within her. Her mind running through everything again, the same questions, the same fears. How had this happened? How hadn’t anyone noticed? Moody had been a mentor to both she and Frank so how hadn’t they noticed anything was amiss? No. No she had known something was wrong, why hadn’t she trusted herself more? Why had Neville fallen in for his act just as easily?
Not that she blamed him! Alice could never blame her son, when she had been so taken in by young Barty Junior so many years ago. Clever, dutiful, responsible, boy… just a boy… just her bosses son. Poor lad out running errands in the foul November weather… Did… did Neville ever feel the way he had? Was he sick of living in Franks shadow? He… he didn’t resent them did he? Was that why he had spent so much time with…
She took a deep breath and gathered her thoughts back together before she drew back to look at her son. Pull back from the pain of those memories, the insecurity and fear it woke in her and made sure her features showed none of it, though her eyes flickered a little uncertainly over Neville’s face as she tried to gauge his mood… and saw nothing but his usual insecurity, and sorrow at having upset his Dad.
“He was… he was always a very good actor… and a likeable young man. Likeable enough that we thought nothing of letting him into our home and offering him tea.” She said. This was not Neville’s fault, he didn’t do anything wrong. Crouch Jr. had the charm to fool even the most experienced Aurors, and the cunning to sneak up on the wariest, Moody was the wariest person you could ever hope to meet, and yet he had been taken by surprise as well. “Neither of us is angry with you, how could we be? We made the same mistake as you.” Alice had no doubt that Franks ire was directed at any of dozens of responsible individuals rather than his son, who had done nothing but trust a teacher, and someone who he thought was a friend of his parents.
“I– yeah, uhm, yes. He– That’s what I told him,” that’s what must’ve upset him from what he said, right? Neville thinks he might understand them when he thinks about the Prof- no, Crouch hadn’t been the real Professor even if he’d spent the year teaching them all. It doesn’t count, right? What he learned, that doesn’t have to be from a Professor. He learns things from his parents all the time! They’re not Professors!
“Mum? He– he taught us a lot. Do we– Do I–” does he call him Professor? He doesn’t have to, does he? It can’t count. He’s not sure what to call the man anymore. Crouch Jr. feels wrong. He didn’t kno him as Barty either. And Professor Crouch– no. It’s what he feels like but it’s so, so wrong.
And that’s not even the worst wrongness with this all.
He blames himself at least a little, he spent all year not realizing when he’d known the man that was supposed to be teaching them. He should’ve been able to notice something more, to figure out enough to be wary. But he’d trusted him, he’d smiled at him. For some moments he’d been genuinely happy in his presence.
He feels wrong thinking about it, do they realize that? Do they understand that he’d done something so terrible as to smile at someone who’d tortured them like it hadn’t mattered? Talked about it with the one who’d been in on it. He’d confided things in the man that he never wants to tell his parents.
Alice nodded thoughtfully, taking a deep breath. “Professor Lockheart?” She asked simply looking to gauge his reaction. Lockheart was a fraud and had been revealed as such, at least to the Gryffindor students, and to the teachers. “Professor Quirrel?” She asks, another professor who had been a phony. “You address him in whatever way you deem suitable Neville. He taught you more than some, and I’ll accept that his lessons were good, if only because to be less than competent would have given him away.” Alice let that sink in for a moment.
It had been entirely to Crouch Juniors plan to be as good a teacher as possible, Moody’s reputation would not allow for him to get away with anything less, in a twisted way it was sort of a compliment to the old Auror. A homage to the respect for Moody that would have been drilled into him by his father, even when the two had clashed there had never been any denying that Alastor was the backbone of the Auror department, and his principals and skill had both played an equal part in his success. And Crouch had acted enough like him to fool even the Longbottoms, mostly, so Alice could accept that he had kept up the act as a teacher, mostly. Besides both Senior and Junior had paid the price now, and then some for their sins, she couldn’t hold a grudge against someone who had no soul any longer... it would be like having a grudge against a rock.
“Now listen. IT’s not your fault, your father and I had a chance to see through him, we were there for the events, and we didn’t. We failed you, and your father is taking that hard." More than that, a long list of people had failed. Starting with Crouch Senior, and ending with Dumbledore.
Alice looked at Neville sadly. “In the meantime... if you could just talk to us if you have any questions or doubts about something he said, just ask. And don’t take your fathers mood to heart, he’s angry at a great many people, including himself, but I promise, you are nowhere on that list!”
