this post got really popular so i wanna add a couple of things:

the sonic bible isn’t canon. i love BDG as much as the next guy but that thing never got greenlit by Sonic Team or any of the Sonic creators. it has never been used in any of the games

Archie Sonic was never canon either, especially after getting rebooted and all the comic relatives of game characters (including sonic’s parents Bernie and Jules) were retconned out of existence. also they got cancelled

Sonic designer and creator Naoto Ohshima recently confirmed in an interview that Sonic is an orphan and grew up alone

this post was made with the game continuity in mind (that’s why mario is there)
