Welcome to December. Are you ready for it?
The Northern Lights 1: Howard Russell Butler (1856-1934) 2,3,4: Sydney Laurence (1865-1940)
I really only dress my altar up for winter solstice, so here it is! It’s more wishful thinking than anything because I live in Florida and this is the only time of year my altar doesn’t represent that.
In the depths of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer
Sometimes I just have this extremely deep longing for intense platonic friendship. I crave intimacy at its highest level. I want to hold your hand, and hug you until I can hear and feel your pulse. I want a casual love without boundary. This world is so static and separate from itself, and I just can't contain myself any longer. I need the warmth of friendship, of love, of closeness. I feel as if I am dying without it sometimes. My chest is heavy but also hollow without it. I do wonder if it is simply seasonal depression, but I feel this in every season. It's like an ancient feeling in my core, and it saddens me. Oh to live in a world far from how I wish it were to be. So sad.
The Snow Queen
by Charles Robinson (1870–1937)
