1hr checkpoint! Head and body and really long legs. I think I should've scaled this smaller but like, that's already as thin as I could make the legs 😭

2hr checkpoint! Arms and scarf! I spent a lot of time on the scarf and I'm p sure I gotta redo it 😫 or at least mod the back of it..

3hr checkpoint! A whole hour just on making the back of the scarf poofier and then embroidering the blue triangles and I hate itttttt I should've done the dark blue larger triangles first and then light blue on top centers. That might've taken a little less time maybe. At any rate. Not a fan of stupid tiny details

4hr checkpoint! Spent the hour cutting off the old scarf and doing a new one. I like how the new one is turning out, will still require some embroidery to touch up the triangles but not as much embroidery as option 1.

5hr checkpoint! Cape! This feels like such slow going because the outside part of the little cape is done, but the inside is three different colors so that's taking a bit. Flat pieces with different colors on each side my beloathed

6hr checkpoint! God that was so not worth the hour it took. It looks BASICALLY THE SAME. EXCEPT ☝🏽

The underside of the cape is three shades of blue. Which you won't be able to really see ANYWAY after I sew the arms on 🥲

7hr checkpoint! I regret not making this so much tinier. Why is the bulb so massive in comparison to the rest of the body.

8hr checkpoint! Almost doneeee little more than an hour left I think!! The bulb is done and two of the ear/sepal things so once the other ear things are done I just gotta sew all the bits together aaaaaa

Total time: 8h52! Finally!!!! The bulb thing is so weird!! So much about this design was deceptively complicated !! I had never really Looked at Calyrex's design before this and I thought it'd be pretty simple to make, easy shapes, but man the segmented poofiness of the scarf and the triangles on it, the different colors of the cape, and the weird clear part covering the antenna/pistil thing in the bulb really threw me off

But yay it's done oh my godddd

"making them afraid will make them more racist" that's wild to me, because we live in a whole culture of social consequences for antiracism anyway. It is literally safer to be a racist than it is to speak up against it, socially.

Idk about you, but "I'm afraid no one will want to be my friend if I'm a white supremacist" seems like a pretty logical thought process to have, and I wish THAT were the normal and not "I'm afraid my friends will hate me if I tell them they made racist jokes".
