“Hektate!” She squeaked almost instantly, closing the distance between them with a fond squeeze of the other’s hands. For the rest of her words (spoken teasingly sly and giggly), she swung them with her own.

“I wouldn’t call it new news, really, but Hades is being the slightest bit grumpy now that Spring’s nearly here. All a huff-and-a-pout.” Here, her shoulders shrugged, though her words were nothing but affectionate.

"Persephone," Hekate chirped in response as she gave her friend's hand squeeze in return. The smile that had brightened her face when she saw the other woman did not go away.

"Oh, that's certainly nothing new." She laughed and leaned in worse, her voice turning low and sly. "It's downright adorable though and as grumpy as we both know that the grumpier he gets the more he'll spoil you rotten when you return."

Artemis smiled, truly happy to be with her friend again. There weren’t many people who Artemis considered a true friend but she cared for Hekate just a little more. She was bias perhaps. 

Apollo chuckled and with his arms extended he walked over and took Artemis’ place in the hug. “I do my best to behave and by my views I’m practically a saint.”

“His views being the key words.”

“How have you been milady?”

Hekate made sure to give Artemis a squeeze and an affectionate kiss on the cheek before releasing her to accept Apollo's hug. A burst of laughter left her lips at his words and she smiled warmly at him.

"You're just as smart-mouthed as ever, sunshine. I'll be keeping my eye on you." She tapped beside her eye to underline her point. "I've been well though things have been a bit boring lately. The mortals can only do so much to entertain me some days and I don't get visits from certain people enough."

Although she eyed them and elbowed Apollo to indicate that he and Artemis did not visit enough, her eyes were sparkling with mirth. "How have things been for you?"

Keeping Up With The Jones

Hekate is not on top of all of the latest trends but she at least has some basic knowledge of modern advancements. It is through the witches over the centuries that she has been able to stay even remotely on top of the changes in the world of the living.

“Did not expectto see me?” Artemis smiled making quick way to her friend, “I’m almost insulted.” She brought her into her arms with a laugh and squeezed as tightly as she could.

“Give her some room to breath, if you squeeze her any harder her eyes will pop,” Apollo said from the back.

“You’re just jealous I got to her first.”

"I don't get many guests these days." She explained as she was caught up in a tight hug. A laugh escaped her as she slipped her arms around the other woman and gave her a squeeze in return. "It is good to see you."

"You two are just as lively as ever," Hekate noted as she sent a warm smile in towards Apollo as well. "And there's no need to be jealous. You can have a hug too, if you behave."

“Some unfortunate business that I have heard.” Athena replied as she cut the pleasantries. “I heard word of some souls escaping the Underworld and thought I would come to see what you have seen and heard.”

Forgotten yet Unforgotten

Although many myths have been lost in time and forgotten, Hekate does not feel as if she has been lost with them. There are still mortals that devote themselves to her, pray to her, and honor her in their witchcraft.

So she is both forgotten and unforgotten.
