i don’t understand how neil gaiman intellectual properties still trend on here so regularly he literally trafficked women. like it’s not even a discourse thing or a “he’s problematic” thing he was “cancelled” for human trafficking. he repeatedly isolated women, usually his or his ex-wife’s fans, with no support system for the purpose of raping them while they were dependent on him for income and housing. that’s human trafficking

And to all his former fans… Neil Gaiman is not your dad. You didn’t know him on a personal level. He wrote stories you liked, and he turned out to be a power-hungry monster.

He didn’t betray you. He betrayed the trust of the women he employed. I’ve never seen such a case of former fans making an abuse narrative about them, when there are women who were materially, physically harmed by him.

The horror of this story is not that you had liked Sandman. It’s in the abuse he perpetrated against multiple young homeless women and against his son. So many people have lost the plot with Neil Gaiman, it’s baffling.

To be clear, this isn't a bit. This is what they actually did. "Its too late" is the new "Climate change isn't real"... And its still a lie!

Every serious climate scientist agrees that there is no such as thing as too late, just as there is no such thing as too early. We should have done a lot more than we have to fight climate change, and the world will suffer for our inaction, but there is no point of no return. We can always work to reduce the amount of suffering that occurs, and eventually turn things around to the point where our planet is healing once again. Do not believe anyone who says it's "too late".

Love the dynamic that Enjin has with Zanka and Rudo but it's so obvious that his dynamic with Riyo is based on... the same wavelength they have? A fundamental understanding of each other? Similar experiences they share? Sometimes it's like they have a secret language between them where they don't have to communicate with each other to get their thoughts across.

Enjin stands on different grounds with Zanka because of Zanka's hero worship. Personality or experience-wise they're not similar to each other either.

With Rudo he shows empathy to his struggles and he shares his experiences with him like an older brother would. But their relationship is also on uneven grounds because of that. To Rudo, Enjin is an adult while he is not.

I have not seen that uneven ground with Riyo. More often than not, those two talk and act like equals to each other. Enjin has neither a mentor nor an adult role in Riyo's life so I'm curious about their shared backstory and how that came to be.

i actually do think diversity of interpretation is one of the greatest beauties of fandom bc i have seen so many different & unique takes on characters that still sincerely engage with and transform what we see in the source material. unfortunately occasionally an interpretation will piss me off so bad i taste blood. but we don't have to talk about that
