ooh boy....

well, that depends on your definition of happy ending. do they end up happier than they started? yes they do. is it a more traditional version of a happy ending? no.

however hard they try, they can never really recapture the spark from their youth. ian keeps chasing and anthony struggles to wait for him, but by GOD are they going to try.

whether they make it all the way to the end, i'll leave that vague and unanswered for now, except that their ending is definitely one of the happier ones.

something about the places in nature we used to go as kids becoming inaccessible now, and us not noticing because we don't have endless time to explore these places anymore. something about older generations maybe not knowing the creek they swam in is now drying up, the woods they once ran in are now full of brambles, the hills they rolled down are full of rabbit holes. something about the natural world reclaiming these places as the people who frequented them grow older.

Amanda - Gronkle because i lowkey think she would be too scared to ride fast....

Damien - Whispering Death cus it matches his vibe and i like the contrast of really loud dragon and really quiet rider

so ianthony pretty much met the same way they did irl; in high school, where they started a dsbm band "black comma code" that got really popular in their hometowns black metal scene. they moved to a bigger city where anthony left the band to pursue helldawn, leaving ian to form freezing pyre.

this caused a rift in their relationship, and ian claimed to hate anthony (even though he went to every single one of anthony's gigs) they have a "frenemies with benefits" kind of relationship, as anthony's mentality/mental health is getting worse, while ian almost refuses to move on from what once was.

this reflects in their music and performance. ian still makes dsbm music, while anthony has moved onto black metal. ian hasn't moved on from the period of black metal where you say fucked up shit but dont actually do it, whereas anthony keeps trying to do crazier and crazier shit.

they love to hate each other, anthony doesn't look back to see if ians caught up, and ian keeps trying to match pace. anthony gets worse, ian stays the same, they fuck, forget, and pretend they don't want to have something that lasts.

it is a metal band au in which anthony started a band called helldawn and ian started a band called freezing pyre, but they used to have a band together (black comma code)

freezing pyre plays more dsbm/heavy metal, whereas helldawn is black metal/dsbm!!! still figuring out the writing, but I have like... four fics written and SO MANY ideas. its super dark and emo but like... idc I LOVE BLACK METAL SO MUCH (also the idea of arasha in corpse paint HELLO???) so yeah this is my appeal to ask me about my au haha

i LOVE LOVE their dynamic, i think its so fun and silly, and i adore the way they play off of each other! they are so sweet, and im a SUCKER for a goofy girl/goofier guy dynamic!! they are def one of my fav smosh duos atm

as for shipping (which is what i assume you are asking for LMAO) i do enjoy reading some shipping stuff, i have nothing against it as long as its not crossing any boundaries, there are some really great fics out there! HOWEVER me personally I don't really feel comfortable writing them romantically unless it's

a. characters they have played other than themselves

or

b. very clearly divorced from real life/real personas (like superpowers, AUs and stuff like that)

but at the end of the day i really could not care less unless either of them has stated they are uncomfortable with it
