Magneto: Charles, we tried things your way.
Professor X: No we didn't!
Magneto: I did in my head, and it didn't work.
Professor X: Erik, if you could spare a minute, I’d like a possible opinion on something.
Magneto: Well then, you’ve come to the right person.
Professor X: I haven’t told you what the something is. You might not have an opinion.
Magneto: I always have an opinion.
When crows remember people who wronged them and hold grudges, it’s ‘intelligent’ and 'really cool,’ but when I do it, I’m 'petty’ and 'need to move on’? What kind of double standard honestly…

Sometimes the only thing to do is scream.
Lorna was a hard worker, she hallways had been. And so she was in the training room, practicing, and between practice sessions she would sit and do homework. With all her AP classes, she felt like she just maybe might have bitten off more than she could chew. But she didn’t want anyone to know that. Especially not Magneto. She didn’t want him to revoke her TA duties. This was the only real chance she had to get to know the man.
But she was growing increasingly frustrated at the lack of growth in her powers. Shouldn’t she be learning new abilities? She felt like he was stuck, like nothing was developing.
And so as she stood in the room, moving metal objects around in different mass amounts, she finally had it. She screamed, just to silence all the thoughts raging in her brain. She screamed as if she thought it might let everything out. And then she screamed so hard that the ground shook beneath her as metal all around the room went flying into each other and falling to the ground with vibrating thuds.
Finally, she leaned against the wall and slid to the ground, her arms resting on her knees as she let out a shaky breath. her eyes caught someone in the room and felt her defenses fly up. “What?” she said in a low, irritated voice.
There was a disturbance in the magnetic fields around the school. Normally, it was because of the Master of Magnetism, himself, but today it appeared to be someone else. Erik didn’t have to guess who, and slowly made his way to the training room, curious about what the girl was doing.
When he got there, he witnessed her outburst and shielded himself from the shrapnel that had been blasted around. She was clearly frustrated about something and Erik wanted to know what it was. He had his suspicions of the girl, so he wanted to win her over to his side before her mind became tainted.
When she reacted to his presence, he merely looked around the room to see the damaged she caused, and looked back at her. With a wave of his hand, the metal pieces went into place and started to form along the wall once more. No doubt Charles would be upset if his precious danger room was ruined.
“What indeed,” He replied and took a few more steps forward, “Were you trying for something specific, Lorna?”

“Or ye think too ‘ighly af yerself and need ta understan’ tha’ yer as temporary as th’ rest af the world. No reason ta put on such airs once ye’ve seen enough. Just wastes energy.” Cu said, shooting a bit of snark back at Magneto, hoping that it would shut the man up from insulting him a more than was acceptable.
The dark haired man’s eyebrow cocked as the older-looking professor said he was right. Surely that wasn’t true. Magneto almost made it a point of never saying anyone other than himself was right. A flaw, certainly. “Or ye can do drinkin’ an’ lettin’ yer guard down fer one night, throw aff yer demons ye got corralled up inside yer noggin’ an’ stop wastin’ days like this one with no’ much ta say fer yerself in terms af progress?” Cu Chulainn grinned, “What are ye really frettin’ bout?”
“To the immortal it’s temporary, but to the rest of the world, it’s an eternity.” Magneto corrected, fully willing to dive into this little debate they were having. “You’re out of your element, Cu. While you’ve been around for centuries, this is the first time things have really started to change. Instead of a hundred casualties, wars leave behind millions. If you think I will stand idly by when my fellow mutants are being killed and discriminated against, because I’m only “temporary”, then you need to rethink your position at this school. We’re here to change the future.”
He then shrugged, “If I think of myself too highly, then so be it. I have seen at least a quarter million dead human beings with my own eyes…and I couldn’t save a single one. Now, that’s all changed, and I have the power to make a difference and fight for what I care about.”
After a moment, Erik paused and leaned back in his chair. “I suppose that’s what I’m fretting about.”

Aliya’s hand abruptly jolted when she felt the frame leave her fingertips which then caused her to bring her arms in. One thing for sure, the infamous Magneto held true to the stories. He was a stoic and scary person for first impression. Regret filled the girl, her frame freezing in place as she’s listening intently to the professor. A glimpse of relief came over her however, it would quickly leave upon Mr.Lehnsherr’s word of caution. I should’ve just gone to sleep like everyone else. Why’d I come in his office??
Her eyes widen at his words, before promptly nodding profusely–her way of letting him know that she fully understood him. “Y-y-yes mr. magneto, sir…” she murmurs under her breathe, too terrified to speak up. “b-but…” she hesitantly adds, “I-i just have one question..” Shut up! Shut up right now, Aliya!!! Why was she like this? Despite the fear he’d instill on her, somehow curiosity still ran rampage within her. In the moment, she wanted to disappear; with all her might she wished that her powers gave her the ability to cease to exist. However, when she glanced up, meeting the eyes of the professor, Aliya was disappointed in the realization that she, in fact, could not.
Erik waited for the girl to finish her thought, but she seemed to be rather hesitant. She already said that she had a question... Why was she waiting? Erik highly doubted it would be personal, so he gave her a little push to continue. “Yes? You might as well ask it. Otherwise, we’re just wasting each other's time.” More correctly, Aliya was wasting /his/ time, but he figured if he put it like that, it wouldn’t come off so aggressive.

Making sure to act natural, Raven wandered down the street, tailing the man closely, waiting for the opportune time to step in and swipe from his pockets. It shouldn’t be too hard, She had practice so in all scenarios that she could see, she would be successful one way or another. Of course, Telling the future wasn’t her power, so she was simply being cocky.
The walkway forking, She took that as a sign to make her move, so the blonde sped her pace up a little and shifted by the brunet, delving into his pocket, getting a handful of coins, before turning off to the other fork of the path, keeping her eyes focused forward.
There was a certain coin in particular that Erik was always aware of. It was an ever-burning presence in his pocket and a constant reminder of what he had to do. Over the years, his powers had gotten stronger and he was now able to detect various metals around him. Not only did this work well for people trying to sneak up on him, but it also meant he was aware when people tried to pick his pocket.
It was a rather common occurrence and while Erik normally would have let the woman get away with his change, she managed to pick up /the/ 1936 German Coin made from Nazi gold. That wouldn’t do.
Once he detected where the coin was, he trailed behind the woman before grabbing her wrist that held the coins and stopped her dead in her tracks. “I’m afraid, my dear, that you’ve taken something important from me and I’m going to request you give it back.”

“Yer jus’ jealous af me relaxed nature in the face af peril an adversity. An me devilishly keen accent.” Cu snarked back, knowing how Americans took the Irish accent and how most countries did. He’d dropped it many times before, hiding away as he did for so many years, and likely could drop it once more. But that was the point of this place; to not have to hide any longer. Cu’s decision to speak with his natural accent and practice his chosen religion and many other things were a show of that. “Respect yer elders, Maggy.” Cu said, waving a finger at him, reminding the older looking man that he did have a few centuries on him.
Hearing the resignation, the dark haired professor shrugged. “Aye… But ye can also live a little. After all, yer life is short. ‘Ow bout we break tha’ sour mood wid some drink an time away from th’ campus? Visit somewhere an pretend ta be normal an jus’ 'ave fun? Might 'elp ye wid yer work too.”

“I respect those who prove they deserve it,” Magneto replied, looking at Cu and almost challenging him. “You might be older than everyone at this school, but your mentality says otherwise. Must be all of those years you spent as a dog.”
When Cu invited him to have ‘fun’ and leave the campus, the white-haired man scowled. There was no time for such things, especially since he couldn’t leave his room without his helmet on. No doubt that would bring attention to himself and he’d spend another few decades rotting away in jail. There was also a good chance that Charles wouldn’t break him out this time.
“You’re right,” Erik started, just to get Cu’s hopes up so he could crush them, “My life is short and there are still many things I must do before I go. I can’t waste anytime drinking and letting my guard down.”

Magneto? Now, why does that name sound so familiar? Aliya’s eyebrows furrowed together as she tried to recollect a memory of the professors name before something had eventually clicked. Magneto. The Magneto. The mutant on the television who was wanted for terrorizing many. Aliya remembers watching the breaking news of the fellow before her on television and wanted posters around the city of Seoul. She would’ve never thought of having the opportunity of meeting him in the flesh. Now that she had made the connection, guilt and fear began to consume her. Out of all the professors on campus, somehow, her unlucky ass had managed to mess with a notoriously dangerous man.
Aliya swallowed thickly, eyes shaking while she tried to come up with a decent reply. “I-i, um, well…” Her eyes scanned the room frantically, searching for anything that could ease her into a decent reply. The pressure was on and while she contemplated her options, one of them included relying on her gifted eyes to make this conversation easily forgettable for the man. She’d have to be pretty stupid to mess with Magneto’s mind and sense—safe to say, she was a step below that level. Aliya sighed out heavily, head hung low before she’d bring it back up while scratching the back of her head. “Okay. You caught me. Y-you’re good.” Aliya shook a finger at him, admiring his skills. “I-i had no idea it was your office—I promise! I was just on my way back to my dorm a-and, and I saw the door was open and I didn’t know that this is your office.”
Erik watched as the realization came over the girl. She was either an excellent actress or she really was just incredibly nosy; his money was on the latter. Luckily for her, he was in a decent mood and wasn’t going to take out any aggression on her. Instead, he looked down at her and then at the picture frame she was holding. With a wave of his hand, the frame went back to the shelf.
“I believe you,” He replied simply. He then looked over his office once more and when nothing seemed out of place, he looked back at her. “Just a word of caution, Miss Aliya. Curiosity killed the cat... and while I know satisfaction brought it back, it’s best to avoid snooping if you don’t have 9 lives to spare.”

Victor scowled slightly at the mention of Mystique. He never knew where her loyalties were and let alone made him wary of her. But if Magneto wanted her opinion on this that was his call. Victor had his own plans anyway. “If you want to trust her with this than fine but I’m going alone. She’ll only slow me down.” He already had a good head start on most of the information they were looking for and he’d rather be out there gathering more than taking the time to explain it to someone else.
“Alone?” Magneto questioned him and raised an eyebrow. While Victor was loyal and smart in many fields, Erik didn’t completely believe he could handle it. At least, he didn’t want anything to go wrong when there were the lives of mutants at stake. “And what exactly would you be doing alone? Collecting intel? While I’m sure you could get all the information you need if you snap a couple of fingers, you would be leaving a trail behind you. This needs to be seamless, Victor.”
With that, he let the silent set in for a moment before he continued, “However,” Erik paused, “If you can do it without drawing attention to yourself, then by all means.” He didn’t want Sabretooth to feel like he had to be watched, but at the same time, he didn’t want to mutant to get out of control. He knew his old friend a bit too well.

wanda raises and eyebrow. what a truly ODD request from someone that she barely even knew. “ i don’t see why not… “ she trailed off , folding her hands on her lap in front of her. she had never really been super focused on the biological aspect of her abilities. she accepted that she had them and she dealt with them the best that she could. “ you mean because we’re twins ? “ she asked , already knowing the answer. she didn’t know of any other twin mutants , but she tried not to think too hard about all of this.
“Yes, you and Pietro have an interesting history and abilities,” Magneto replied and produced a swab for Wanda to use. “You can do the cheek cells or a pinprick of blood. Either is effective.”

Charles was not a child; Charles was a rational adult, so he did not rise to the mocking in Erik’s tone. “Funny enough, Erik, this has very little to do with you,” he said, because that was almost entirely the truth. Erik was the root, but Charles was beyond the roots of this tree by now. Charles was far into the branches of this cursed tree, working well beyond the seed Erik planted. “And, trying to get me to drunkenly admit to something I don’t believe is beneath you.”
“All that effort,” Charles hummed, trying to keep from picking up the same tone Erik had taken with him, and failing. “Your mind isn’t all that sought after, Erik- though, I’m sure that comes as a surprise to you, with all the preaching you do.” Pot and kettle, but, Charles was drunk enough he could be a little hypocritical.
Erik was always involved in something that caused the X-men grief, so when Charles told him he wasn’t, it peaked his interest. He was either lying, or there was something more pressing. They were at a stalemate; neither of them could read the other’s mind so they would be forced to communicate the old fashioned way... Talking. “Well, if that’s the case I’m surprised you didn’t ask for my help. You know I’m always willing to help you out or repair your precious school that gets blown to pieces.” A load of lies depending on the situation, but he sometimes helped with things. For instance, the last attack with the Shadow King, he made sure to help both sides of the school, not just his own.
“And it wasn’t that much effort, it’s actually quite easy to block you out now,” He said with a slight smirk on his face, and ignored the other comments Charles made. The helmet was staying on, no matter the lies Charles told him. His mind wasn’t the first priority, sure, but it was always something that people wanted to pry into. Why tell Charles all of his plans? “Speaking of, does tin foil keep you out as well? I’ve been thinking about handing out hats.”
yes! it is so! the girl is flesh of my flesh…blood of my blood! hers shall be the power and glory known to no other woman. for she is the daughter of magneto!

nice to meet you, future partner in crime – { @magnetic-manipulation }
Yet another day of scouring the streets to make her way, Raven was growing tired of being one of the downtrodden, spat upon street roamers. She wanted to find herself at least living decently. And right now. She wasn’t even close to that. So here she was, stalking the shadows of yet another busy street, waiting for the right people to come along. Every now and again she would get a few people, but she was currently in a dry spot. She was thinking of moving onto another area if she was honest….
Then she saw just the right person to skim. A tall man, strong looking. Looked rather monied too by the quality of the clothes he wore. Perfect. He might just be the jackpot she had been needing and waiting for. So slowly she got up from her seated position in the side streets and started to blend with the crowd, tailing the man carefully.
Erik looked at his ID, seeing a familiar face but a name that didn’t match. This wasn’t the first time he had changed his name, but it was still just as weird as before. Even after all of these years, his head would still turn when he heard someone call out for Max and Magnus. And while he would have loved to keep either name, they were both tainted with the pain and horror of his past. Max was the man who survived the Holocaust, Magnus was the man who murdered an entire town after they killed his daughter... and now he went by the name Erik: another name to ruin.
He even had a slight idea of how he was going to ruin it: He had gotten word that Shaw was sighted in the area. Erik had no idea how he was going to do it, but he wanted to replace the metal fillings in his teeth with knives... Swords, anything that would cause him excruciating pain.
He just had to find him first.
He slipped the wallet back into his pocket and continued walking through the streets. Not only was he looking for a specific address, but he was also looking to see if Shaw was hiding amongst the crowd.

wanda’s dark eyes followed the somewhat familiar voice. erik lehnsherr. sighing, she turned her body towards him, crossing one leg over the other. “ a project ?? “ her head was saying NO. or, well, it was actually yelling at her. she never shared any of the same ideals that erik did with the whole hellfire, brotherhood and his outlook towards humans and YET she still followed him. he had saved her and her brother, afterall. she did owe him. “ i may be interested. and no, i’m not too busy for you. what is it ?? “
“I’m taking DNA samples from various students and professors and lining them up to see how exactly the x-gene works in all of us and if there are differences. To be more specific, I’m curious about why each of us have different abilities and I want to pinpoint at what location in our genes it changes.” It was a rather odd thing to do, but he was the genetic professor and it gave him something to research while he was at this godforsaken school. “You along with your brother have both unique and completely different powers, so I thought it would be interesting.”
mindfulmanors:
Charles bit back a sigh; of course, on the night when he was looking to forget his woes, the physical embodiment of them decided to step into his life. “That’s about what I thought you’d say,” he said, head dropping to the back of his chair. Maybe if he didn’t look at Erik, he’d go away- like the Boogeyman. Was that how the Boogeyman worked?
“It isn’t a break,” he corrected primly, drawing every ounce of composure he had. Erik didn’t get to see him broken, Charles wouldn’t give him the satisfaction. “I’m a rational adult, drinking to forget, as my age allows me, and had you been anyone but yourself, I might have been inclined to ask if you wanted to join me.” Instead, you’re an ass, he thought pointedly, even though he knew Erik couldn’t hear him- that fucking helmet gave him a headache just looking at it. “Tell me, do you sleep in that thing?”
Alas, Erik was not the Boogeyman and the lack of attention only made him feel like he was winning. Charles always acted like the better person and yet here he was, stooping to Magneto’s level and attempting to hurt his feelings. The lack of invitation was proof of that and he pretended to be offended. “Oh really? What’s the matter? Did I convince another student to my side? Or are you just trying to suppress all the thoughts that I could very well be right in all of this,” It was an argument they had countless times, even during the first few times they met.
“And no,” He replied casually, only to continue his comment, “I’ve surrounded my room and office in a similar type of metal.”
