Bored and decided my pinned post could use a touch-up

-33, cis het, though more often than not, leaning towards ace/demi.

-Never questioned my gender but I've also spent my whole life being more of a girl's girl than a man's man. I know more about Taylor Swift and the Jonas Brothers than I do about any sort of sports.

• I was a stand-in Gay Best Friend™ for a lot of my teenage years, and as such there's a good chance I genuinely follow some of you incredibly beautiful individuals for your fashion sense :P

-I didn't get out much in my formative years so a lot of my personality is based on staying in and watching shows/movies

• Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, Degrassi, and Skins shaped my personality

• if you mention relatively niche shows like Radio Free Roscoe or Blake Holsey High I will immediately love you

-as far as music goes, my tastes can aptly be described as "sad bisexual music." Browse my #music tag and you'll understand

-co-parenting with an emotionally abusive ex; I will be whining about her and our history as it occurs to me

-I tend to follow folks who are also in their 30s, because hey, we've made it this far! Let's be honest, if you're here, you've been through some stuff.

years ago I was working on my first original story. it had gone through a ton of changes and I had finally settled on it and making so much real progress on it. I was so proud

then 2 years later, the movie A Fantastic Fear of Everything came out. and I remember watching it like "haha Simon Pegg's character is pretty similar to my main character :)"

and then as I kept watching it I was like. oh. oh this is basically the entirely same character I was writing and someone just beat me to it.

DEVASTATING for 20yo me. I abandoned the story. what a foolish thing to do. I should have kept working on it. nothing is original anyway ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

10 years ago I was working on a song based on the story of Orpheus and Eurydice, specifically the journey out from the Underworld. I had lyrics written out, I was limited to "composing" on the guitar due to not actually knowing how to write music. The result was something that sounded like a Civil Wars demo. Never got around to recording it, my intended singing partner had lost interest in theatre and we both got busy with work/school.

...Then Hadestown happened and killed any motivation -_-

Completely forgot about the concept until I picked up on Epic: The Musical last year, renewing an interest in basing a story on Greek mythology. Part of me wishes I'd stuck with it, just for the sake of actually creating something. I miss being involved with the art world.
