That was his Magnus. Jokes in the face of such misery. It was a front, he knew, but he wasn’t about to push for something more truthful after the mess of the day. He allowed a smile, head shaking at the man. “Standard hospital attire. Catarina insisted.” And if tea was all he wanted for now, it was tea he would get. A set had been brought through, by Catarina or Izzy he supposed. Filling a cup, he followed Magnus to bed, perching himself on the side. “Makes a change, you being the patient for once, hm? Should I be thanking you for never putting me in a hospital gown when you’ve saved my butt from almost certain death?” 

              coming to find a seat on alexanders bed, a long exhausted sigh parted his lips. using that momentum to dramatically fall back, now laying across the bed.  “ i didn’t think it appropriate to change you in front of everyone at the institute, darling. ”  glancing over to alexander to flash him a quick flirty wink,  “ -- as much as i desired to see you half naked once again, i thought maybe i should wait until after we had our first date. ”  upon noticing alexander with tea in his hand, he was quick to return upright and accept it with a gracious, warm smile,  “ thank you. ”

“I know that today wasn’t what you wanted. What anybody wanted.” But thankfully, miraculously, it was almost over. His bedroom made a better recovery room than the infirmary, though he got the sense that the other was longing for another bed entirely. “How are you feeling? Really?” 

            “ i don’t think anyone would plan to spend their friday sporting that hideous blue smock. I will not make a habit of that, I will promise you that much. ”  how was he feeling ? ... magnus could hardly think it through himself, let alone admit to what was plaguing him. not after today. not after what alexander has had to endure. instead, he offered a simpler answer,  “ nothing a cup of tea wont fix. ”  an extended hand briefly squeezing the lower part of alexanders arm in reassurance as he made his way towards the bed.

no  surprise  blesses  his  features  for  he  learned  to  accept  the  essence  which  was  magnus  bane.  even  if  the  other  seemed  to  forget  that  the  training  was  not  a  thing  to  be  taken  lightly,  alec  can’t  quite  deny  that  it  is  refreshing  to  see  the  magnus  relaxed.  like  a  gulp  of  fresh  air  he  felt  devoid  of.  like  warm  rays  of  sun  dancing  on  his  skin.   ❛off  course  you  would.❜   bright  blue  gaze  follows  that  of  the  other;  in  those  prolonged  silent  moments  he’s  quite  gifted  once  it  comes  to  reading  body  language.  and  yet  was  there  ever  anything  to  read?  for  it  felt  as  if  every  thought  was  out  there.  in  the  open.   ❛but  they  might  actually  have  you  train.  the  proper  way.❜

          playing coy had become a delicate sport when it came to alexander. in the beginning, magnus was able to get away with most innuendoes as the other typically wouldn’t be searching for a double meaning. but now, magnus couldn’t even get away with subtle flirting without alexander giving him that look. a look that would shake you to your inner core.  “ what a scandal that would be. ”  magnus chimed, a slight flirtatiously sway to his shoulders as he continued,  “ however would my reputation recover. ”

“I don’t know what I would do if something happened to you.”

          “ then its a good thing i’m not going anywhere. ”  the tender touch to his gaze, the sentiment hitting magnus straight in the heart – it was almost a daily occurrence with alexander. the man knew how to make him melt in a different way every day. a light brush of fingertips ran down alexanders forearm. leading to where he would hold his hand in a gentle reassuring squeeze,  “ our past has made it evident that no matter how we may try, destiny will keep bringing us together. ”

          “ you have a whole institute to worry about – i was supposed to be your vacation from that. ”  magnus drew nearer to the other, the softness in alexanders voice was never missed. appreciation and adoration soared as he knew he was the only one to hear alexander speak like that. coming to stand in front of the other, hand rose to caress his cheek. brushing his knuckles against his jaw.  “ dear alexander, you have nothing to fear with me. ”  peppering a kiss to the corner of his mouth,  “ -- relax. ”

            “ a chance i’m willing to make again and again if it means saving you the pain, alexander. ”  it was a touch dramatic given the circumstances. but it was to match the tone of how worried alexander seemed to be over magnus simply taking a training session with another shadowhunter. one, evidently, no doubt using the session as an excuse to vent their frustrations towards downworlders. not that magnus allowed him anywhere close to what he had hoped would be ‘retribution.’ magnus danced circles around him afterall. effortlessly.

im so sorry i disappeared on everyone. last friday i was sent to the emergency room because i was struggling to breathe. and from then i stayed overnight in hospital for monitoring. it was very scary but hopefully now in the past as i’ve finally been sent home with some meds to sleep and recover. thank you for being patient. i hope i can come back to magnus in a big way soon. love you all xx
