BTOB makes miracle of winning public tv music broadcast No. 1 in 1,480 days.
BTOB won No. 1 trophy on 8th Apr KBS2 âMusic Bankâ through their new album title song âRemember Thatâ. After last year âItâs Okayâ first digital chart No. 1 and âWay Back Homeâ first music broadcast No. 1, they ascended to their first public TV music broadcast No. 1.
BTOB taking 1,480 days to win is the longest time amongst idols. Previous record is Girlâs Dayâs 1,095 days. As much as that, the No. 1 this time showed yet again a growing BTOB stepping on gradually and their hard work. Together with âItâs Okayâ, âWay Back Homeâ, three consecutive success carved BTOBâs colour of âHealing-dolâ.
BTOB debut in 2012 with âInsaneâ, and digested various concepts like âWOWâ, â2nd Confession, âThrillerâ, âYouâre so Flyâ. However, it is a pity that they could not draw huge popularity. Though they have results like music broadcast No. 1 contender for the first time through âBeep Beepâ in 2014 Feb, as compared to groups who debut at the same time, their steps were slower.
BTOB did not give up. In 2015, owing to the burst of potential with Yook Sungjae through MBC âKing of Masked Singerâ, KBS2 âWho Are You-School 2015â, BTOB started to gain attention earnestly. As BTOB showed their talent through various cover videos they did since debut, their neatly piled up hard work during those time caught flame and caused explosive response. And then, achievement of public TV No. 1 on 8 Apr 2016 sees the end of a long tunnel, their shine being seen.
After No. 1 win, BTOB expressed their emotion âWe cannot even believe we won No. 1 now. Thank you so much. Fans seem to want to see us cry coolly. As itâs first No. 1 after 4 years.. Instead of crying, we are so happy that laughter burst outâ and âThere is no feeling of not winning No. 1 during those time. Frankly, we thought itâs normally difficult after debut 4 years. Who knows we might be more regrettable if won in 2~3 years. However, for now that is happyâ.
CUBE personnel who watched BTOBâs first public TV No. 1 conveyed, âThey work hard in songs, work hard in acting, work hard in individual activities. That is an individual result but made possible by the hard work of members towards BTOB teamâs goalâ and âDidnât they realise the quote âLittle strokes fell great oaksââ.Â
Most idols build up fandom within 2~3 years and achieved No. 1 result. If they canât shine within 3 years, losing to rookie boy groups is the law of jungle. BTOB breaks the rule and becomes idol that makes miracle. They have proven that one can do well if you do not give up and work hard.
