New year has me thinking about how I've been approaching my blog and I want to change my posting philosophy. Expect a bunch of whatever art I feel like posting...basically I want to assert that this is my blog for me, and I can't keep catering what I do to an imagined audience anymore. I am freeing myself.

Before graduating with my Bachelors degree in history in Spring of this year, one of the last classes I took was on the modern history of the Middle East. I didn't want all that knowledge to go to waste right after learning it though, so I delved deep into studying more about the region after that class had finished, and I ended up repurposing my references sideblog @scarlet-autumn over the course of many months towards the goal of reblogging a visual library of posts on this website that are about the countries of the Middle East and North Africa.

Feel free to explore it and search up the names of any of these places on there! ^^

My reach isn't great, but my best friend worked hard on this and I wanted to try and get it in front of some other people. Really great resource for any other artists too!

Surprise tiny update for my site right before the new year!!! I compiled all of the Zytarot drawings I did into a little gallery + added some new entries that have never been seen before to complete the major arcana...CHECK IT OUT!!!!!

Sure, I'll post this here. This was very spur of the moment so I probably won't do the other volumes sorry...

To do these I eyeballed a reference + anthropomorphized the features as I went...hopefully that makes sense. If I was ONLY doing serious studies or ONLY doing cartooning, I would have had different approaches for each and each would have turned out different- for example, these are way too detailed for comics, but also much too "clean" for studies. My studies are much looser and focused on breaking animals down into simpler forms. Similar to this:

Anyways, this was a good way to get acquainted with guys I don't get to draw enough- at least not publicly.

Also I haven't forgotten about my website or anything, far from it. Just been a lot going on behind the scenes and it's been hard to find motivation to gather my thoughts or really be social here. Hope I can have your patience a bit longer.
