“Even though you were only in my life for a short while, you made me realise I could be happy again.”
— I just wish we had a little longer. It could have been fantastic.
“Tell me what happened to us. How did we go from one day swearing we’ll be together forever to becoming strangers a few months later, trying our hardest to forget about each other?”

A Story A Day #79 (k.m.)
my ultimate life hack? i like, never wear makeup except for occasions where i want to feel overly hot/professional. this way, people who see me everyday won’t be shocked when i don’t wear makeup, they will instead be shocked at how much hotter i can become. how much potential i don’t unlock for no reason other than laziness
Talking to someone every single day for hours can be pretty destructive because there will come a day where you don’t speak at all and it’s going to be the loneliest feeling in the world.
It is…
Don't EVER agree to friends after they break up with you.
Why would you do that? Firstly, if they have told you the relationship is over, why would you want to be their friend? That would communicate three things to them: 1 - You’re still around so they don’t even have to feel bad about ending things. 2 - You’re absolutely fine with them seeing other people (when you’re not). 3 - You accept their behaviour of ending the relationship and don’t value yourself highly enough to negotiate for what you want.
I would say in most circumstances that your ex brings up being friends about the same time they tell you that things are over. You’re reeling from what you’ve just heard. You feel rejected, emotional, probably feel like they’re better than you and that you’ll never find anyone as good as them again. So what do you do? You agree to being their friend because you don’t want to lose them. But wait… they’re ready to lose you. They just ended a relationship between you. Essentially told you that they think they’ll be better off without you in their life. They don’t really want to be your friend. They’re not going to help you through the pain of this breakup. They’re not going to be there to get you out of a jam, but they’re basically saying to you that you need to be there for them. They don’t want to feel guilty, and if you agree to their terms al you’re doing is alleviating that guilt for them breaking your heart.
Presumably you’re still in love with them and are thinking that you want them back at some point. Being their friend is only going to replace all the relationship memories with platonic memories. There’s no coming back from that. You won’t get them back. And things are going to be much worse down the track when they start dating other people… because you’ve been lying to yourself the whole time telling yourself that you wanted to be their friend - when in fact you’re just an undercover lover. Biding your time until they decide that they were wrong and that they do want to be with you after all.
Consider this. Why would they ever have to question if they made the right decision if there are no consequences for their actions? You need to ask yourself why you want to be around someone that would treat you like this. Why you would settle for less when it’s not what you want. Why you would ever put yourself through the emotional trauma of basically allowing and giving them permission to lead you on.
If you’re in this situation and your partner says that things aren’t working out and that they see you as more of a friend, you need to tell them that this isn’t what you want. I don’t want to put words in your mouth but I have been here a few times in the past and said something like “Friends isn’t going to work for me. I’ve had you in my life as a lover and I want that to continue. So if you ever change your mind, give me a call.” And then you leave. Walk away. Never contact that person again. EVER. If you have children then organise any plans ahead of time so you don’t need to have any contact with them other than collecting or dropping off. Christmas, birthdays, a death in the family, an accident, DO NOT CONTACT THEM. The aim is to communicate that you value your feelings and aren’t going to be there to make them feel better about ending the relationship. Obviously in cases of cheating, physical or emotional abuse, or constant arguing and disagreements things are different. This advice is more geared to the people that were happy in their partnership with this other person who has (seemingly) out of the blue just told you it’s over.
I hope this advice finds the right set of eyes and can help someone in a shitty situation that they never wanted. Stay strong, respect yourselves and don’t settle for less than what you’re worthy of.

My Fruit Cups, 2.08
Have you ever been so in love with someone you can actually feel it driving you insane and keeping you sane at the same time?
I’m daydreaming of waking up in the early mornings with you snuggled under the covers, sound asleep. I’ll slip out of bed and grab a cup of coffee, then slip back under the covers and press against you. I’ll stroke your back until you sleepily open your beautiful brown eyes and smile up at me. Gosh, your eyes…they make my heart melt.
