Pulling on her sleep shorts and one of Robinâs t-shirts once she was dried from her shower Maisie sat down to dry her hair. Â She had been on one of her long runs and was still in the buzz of adrenaline when her phone buzzed. Â Delighted to hear her grandmaâs voice Maisie chatted away her mood waning as the conversation developed. Â She hadnât given any thought to even mentioning going back to Oregon for Thanksgiving or her birthday at the end of the month and while her grandma didnât explicitly say, it was clear she had assumed the redhead would. Â By the time the call was over Maisie was in a muddle of emotion. Â She didnât know where Robin was but she grabbed her cat and went through to the couch, lying down with the stuffie clutched tight in her arms. Â Birthdays werenât important to Robin, she knew that and she didnât think they had the funds to fly to Oregon anyway but the ache of being so far from her family began to hurt. Â Switching on the TV she flicked through until she found some random violent film, as far from what she was feeling as she could and lay watching the movement but not paying any real attention as she let the explosions try to distract her from her thoughts.
